May the fleas of a thousand camels infest the crotch of everyone working at TiVo and may their arms be too short to scratch.

Yeah really.  :x

I absolutely could not believe it.  It’s enough to make me think about downgrading, if this function ever hits my TimeWarner unit.

Gotta be a way to hack out the feed.
Or keep the firmware that will affect the change from being updated.
Or maybe a forced downgrade of the firmware after the change has happened.  Guess we wait and see how it is implemented.

What’s the big deal?!?  Fast-forwarding will still take the same amount of time, so it’s not like watching shows will take any longer.  The only reason they’re doing that is because of the stupid “Intellectual Property Protection Act” congress is trying to pass.  Don’t get angry at TiVo, they’re still an awesome company, and this will just give them more money to make better products for us.  Overreacting.

Its not that big a deal. Its a small ad at the bottom left of the screen while you are fast forwarding. I use TiVo, and it wont bother me at all! 😊

I didn’t know if they were going to be small icons to the lower-left.  That would be different.

Still, all bad things start small.  Whatif advertisers feel that it isn’t enough, especially after 50% of the population subscribes to a DVR and they don’t see anything coming out of spending millions on forwarded-ads.

I know:  Forced full-screen ads, unskippable too.   You heard it here first.

That’s what it is.  You have to buy a box and also pay a monthly fee for it.  Different storage capacities available.  With it you can stop and rewind live TV and schedule recordings of an entire TV series with just a couple buttons.

Yeah, everyone should have it.  😛

If this happens I will dump my tivo in a minute—I pay for a service to avoid the crap, this will totally turn me off to the system permanently
