Why are there opinions?  Isn’t everything a fact?

If something is a certain description, it just is, right?

If that’s true then where to beliefs fit in?  Opinions like “I like that haircut” or “I think our current president’s an #######.”.  Facts are “The haircut is a short haircut” or “George Bush is our current president”.  There’s the difrerence.

“I like that haircut” is a fact.  And if the haircut looks good, it looks good.  :mischeif:

Beauty is NOT in the eye of the beholder!! If something looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it must be a duck! And you know, it probably *is* objectively a duck!!!!! Similarly, if something looks pretty, then it probably *is* objectively pretty!!

Ok, I should clairify more.  “That haircut looks nice on you” is an opinion.  Concidering the next person could come up and go “That haircut is completely gross and makes you look like a gay man in heat.”  (And yes I have heard that phrase before.)

How’s that?  😛

“The haircut is a short haircut” technically isn’t a fact. “short” is a relative term. what you may think is short may be long to someone else. i dont know why i’m saying this. i’d just rather not study.

Yeah, “That person has hair” would be about the only phrase you could say was a fact.  Even the color could be debated.  :?
