Capcom announced over the weekend that Resident Evil 4, which was slated to be a Gamecube exclusive, will be released for the PS2 approximately 1 year after the Gamecube release.

I am not really surprised, but they could have waited to announce this until AFTER the Gamecube version was released, couldn’t they? And what’s up with them continuing to say that it would never be released on the PS2?

What??? Thanks for the info, now I don’t have to buy a game cube. 😉

1 Year….i cannot wait and gamecube is freakin cheap…if i were u i bought a used one just to play that game it looks amazing cant wait to get it even i dont have a gamecube my roomates has it and he loves RS series so his gonna get RE4 for sure… 8)

Hey, umm… when does PS3 come out? LOL I have been wanting one of the newer game consoles for the longest time now, but I don’t want to get a PS2 if I only have, like, a month to play it until PS3 comes out. Haha

Re 4 for ps2 = slower loading, worse graphics. Yes, it will be a significant downgrade from xbox or gamecube. Especially because it’s probably going to be a crappy port. The pipelines in the ps2 and the overall hardware is outdated… I’m starting to get really tired of my ps2, especially with top of the line gaming rigs that I have. At least my xbox can load pretty quickly, but that’s mainly because of the harddrive, which many could argue that would boost the speed of re4… however, you still have jaggies and texturing problems. I’ll just get the cube release, perhaps an xbox release if I see it’s improved at all.

i still love my ps2.
