It’s called bigotry

People think that gay marriage takes away the dignity of marriage.. what people fail to realize is that the divorce rate is ridiculous in this country.. I mean seriously.. i think it’s more of a disgrace to marriage that people don’t even take it seriously enough to marry someone they truly love or even attempt to work it out than 2 people of the same sex marrying.  My parents are divorced and I realize that yes sometimes it is definately necessary and many times people do try to work through it.. but I know there are many people who really don’t take it seriously.

Then they name these bills to stop gay marriage stupid ######## names like Marriage Protection Acts.. I just to seem to get it.

6) Federal Ban on Gay Marriage

I must say.. in the past year I’ve become increasingly politically aware.. I made an effort to be informed and inform those around me and vote.  But I’ve never been one to actually go out and protest.. I’ve done some work for the environment (I was the prez of our environmental club in high school and we did some work through that) but I’ve never really been the person in the trenches working for what I believe in.  Now that this has all occured I really wish I played an even more active role than I did and I plan to do more.. and relating to what you said.. if they try to pass an actual amendment banning gay marriage I’ll be on the steps of the White House myself.. this just can’t happen.

I told my dad that England is looking better and better. I was expecting him to say that things aren’t that bad but he said, “that’s a possibility.” Now coming from a man who got out of college at the beginning of the Reagan years and says those were the worst the US had ever seen….I’m even more scared of what is going to happen now.

They’re coming down for Thanksgiving since they don’t have that in their nation. 😛 Boy, when I went over there to visit them last, they gave me the WORST time about Blair-Bush relations. The Brits really think we’re morons. :( And their Prime Minister too

Luckily Blair only has about 1 year left, if that. The majority of the international community think that we’re morons…and they’d be right. The average American is a dullard, which is why Bush won.

when they talk about Bush claiming a mandate it’s pretty much like this.. Bush won the popular vote, electoral vote and his party has gained the majority in the house and senate.. so because him and his party recieved such support he claims a mandate from the American people that they support his views.. so now he can go forth with his agenda.
