i thought all music was supposed to be like a form of poetry anyway.

A few rappers are, but the majority are not.

So true, ones like Mos Def, Common, Dead Prez, and a few others keep some hope for the future of hip hop, but alot of the stuff that is out there is garbage.

I’m with dizzle on this one, some of it might be alright, but for the most part, when you change the words and use fake words, it doesn’t count as a rhyme, and poetry is very rarely about “smacking them hoes up”

I believe that when rappers make songs and freestyle that it is a form of art. It might not alway be something everyone likes, but everyone has a different way of expressing themselves. I think that any form of music is a for of poetry and art.

id definetly consider SOME rap poetry but then again i would also consider a lot of rap NOT poetry

I guess some rap isn’t really poetry, it is just kind of sick, but I don’t know. I try to be open minded about a lot of music even though I don’t like all of it.

No, cuz I don’t like rap. All rap songs sound almost the same.

hip hop is mostly poetry, rap is not
