i don’t think the banners bad.. i just dont like how the main forum body is all the way aligned to the left of my screen.. I’d rather the forum be in the middle with the banner flush to the right..

but either way.. rock the vote is a good cause so i support the banner

hey guys, I’m not digging the flashing nonsense on the side of the screen…it’s beginning to look like Las Vegas in here…

Nothing personal, but it’s seriously driving me nuts.

yeah, that’s the first thing i noticed when i logged on.  it’s kind of distracting and space-consuming.

Sorry, but I’m going to have to agree here.  The alignment now moved over to the left to make space for the ads on the right is horrible.  I have a 1600x1200 flat panel monitor, and now everything looks way out of whack.  I’m on a 1024x768 monitor at school right now and it still looks pretty bad.

I dont like it either, but its something we have to do. Maybe I could find better placement, but the fact is that we did over 1,200,000 page views last month, and are going to probably go over 2,000,000 this month. We upload between 2.5-4 GB per day, and server costs on that are expensive - especially since the only income the site has is the Google ads. I hope that makes sense.

Oh whoa, I thought the forum was aligned to the left ‘cause I was on a different computer. LOL My bad

I voted a couple of days ago. It was my first time voting ever. 😊 I feel like such a good citizen, Ms. Spice 👏

Andru,  I totally understand the costs associated with running the site—the placement more than anything is killing me—

Ad revenue is definately helpful…perhaps a horizontal banner would be better—as it stands it ‘smooshes’ the body of the forum, and I think it takes away from the experience so to speak.

I was in no way trying to offend or anything, believe me, I know it’s not cheap to run this show.

and I definately agree.. I totally understand about the need for ads and such.. just the side ad kind of messes up the appearance of the forum.

Yeah, I am gonna work on the placement. I would prefer it to still be centered as well.

Or maybe put that banner ad where the Google ads are now, and move google to the right….I dunno.

You should be.  i heard they got cameras following around black democrats to see how they vote.  And there are thousands of lawyers lined up for the voting process chaos coming this year.

But about the ads.  Thanks for recognizing the need for them.  We already have horizontal ads, but maybe we can replace them with the flashier horizontals, since the old ones work on a per-click basis.

Take the old ones out and replace with horizontal new ones.  The click-through rate was low anyway.  :|

Yeah I know, it’s extremely annoying.  That’s why I said it was way out of whack.  To see my whole screen on the left is just….poop!

lol, I’m running 1600x1200 on a 20.1 inch flat panel Dell monitor.   I also have 1600x1200 on my Dell laptop, since it’s also ultrasharp.  Long live dell!

I have the same exact one.  :D

Oh, and I understand the need for the ads, it’s just the flashing ones telling me I have won something that are annoying. But I realize the type of ads are out of your control. Or are they?
