First I used Napster, Then I think it was Morpheus then I used Kazaa Lite. I now use Soulseek most of them time, almost never use Kazaa lite anymore, Soulseek is better for downloading full albums. I also get Bit Torrents.

I went in that exact same order too. Bittorrent is magic for software and movies.  It’s how I get my anime fix too.

Faster? Well you can set your upload speed higher thus increasing download speeds. Speed also depends on the amount of seeds/peers that are allowing upload of the source. If too many people are downloading from too few sources, it goes really slow. Use Azureus as your bittorrent client. It’s magic.

eww bittorent, that thing slows internet by 90% on all my computers, and just for only 10kb/s.  Its a waste if you ask me.

FTPs & IRC
I’ll occasionally grab a torrent, but that’s truely a rare thing.

I usually use ftp or irc if im looking for a full album.  If I just need a song or two from an album, i’ll use winMX.  Very good program.. But they stopped making quickMX 😢  Oh well… Still works.

Let’s see. I went from Napster, Mopheus, Kazaa Lite, eMule, and now I’m using Shareaza.  Shareaza is pretty good.  It’s simular to Kazaa, but it’s totally free and adfree, and it’s open source.  It connects to Gnutella 1, Gnutella 2, and eDonkey networks.  It also accepts BitTorrents.  Check it out.
One thing though, I would stick to searching only on the Gnuetlla 2 network cause it’s fast.  But the eDonkey network has such a large amount of files, but it’s sooooo freakin’ slow.

WinMX and IRC and Suprnova.org w/ bit torrent support. I don’t recommend the latter on campuses.

I use Shareaza and BitTorrent. Searching on google can sometimes reveal magic too.

yeah id love to do that…but i just cant figure out how to navigate directories properly…

as for the BT speed problems…the major problem is usually forwarding the right ports from your router to your internal ip so that you can get a good clean connection
