Right now the History Channel is running a show about the War of 1812.  It’s almost over, but I recommend catching it when it airs again.  I’m a student of history, but I have to admit my knowledge of this conflict was lacking.  This show is making the hair on the back of my neck stand up!  I mean, did you know that a hurricane hit the British forces as they were trying to sack Washington DC?  You’ve got to see this, it’s amazing stuff…

EDIT:  Man, upon another read this post sounds like nerd-o-rama!  Still, it’s a good show, honest!  😊

Honestly, I’ve seen a million of these shows.  But this one makes me want to go out and enlist!  :o

My Andean History class is kicking the hell out of me. I know nothing of South America, much less what happens in the Ande’s.  There were some Inkas and now there aren’t any…that’s about all I know.

Yeah, the British troops suffered more losses as a result of the hurricane than they did the fighting!  It was real “wrath of God” type stuff.  Made me think of that sand storm that hit our troops heading into Baghdad last April, and if the big guy was trying to tell us something…
