You were probably playing a game that was just ported to the 360, so it’s hardly fair to judge the system based on it’s ability to display graphics for games designed for lesser systems.

Also, you definitely weren’t playing Oblivion, so who gives a crap.

First thing these are the release games, they aren’t nearly as good as games will be in a year or 2.  Look at Halo vs. Halo 2.  The graphics got a lot better and its the same system.  I played the 360 at E3 and it looked pretty sweet to me.  And the thing about the 360 is all the other capabilities it will have, not just the gaming…

I played Call of Duty 2 at Walmart.

It was pretty fun and the graphics were more refined from the Xbox then completely mind blowing.

Although like Wolfe said it’s only going to get better if you ask most people.

Wait for the games.

Oh and I’m a Sony man myself. Rock on PS3!!!!!!!

Our Xbox 360 review unit should be getting here today or tomorrow. I am sure I will enjoy it 😉

And if you haven’t seen the 20 min Oblivion video where they walk you through some of the game…then you have no idea what good graphics are. You think you’ve seen good graphics before…you even think you can imagine the best graphics ever? You’re wrong…Oblivion is absolutely mind blowing especially when you realize the Xbox 360 could somehow still do better. I’m too lazy to find a link to this video, so go look for it yourself.

But NEVER judge a console by one game, if you did then you were looking for a reason to discredit the console in the first place. You ALWAYS judge a console by the best game it produces, not the worst because that wouldn’t make any sense. You also judge a console by the quality of games out of it. And considering Call of Duty 2, Gears of War, Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo, PGR3, Quake 4, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, DOA4, among a wide array of great sports games and other games I couldn’t pick off the top of my head…this generation is starting out great for the Xbox 360. Not to mention the incredible online service that MS has already and all the upgrades they’re going to be giving it. And for $50 PER YEAR…it’s a bargain. I found myself ONLY buying online games for the Xbox after a while because all the great experiences were online. There were exceptions of course…Morrowind, KOTOR, KOTOR2, Fable, Ninja Gaiden, etc.

And don’t think that just because I’m giving praise to the 360 that i’m damning the PS3 or the Revolution, I’m going based on what I see at this point. And since there’s so little information on the other two, all the praise goes to 360 right now.

Only thing I really noticed that was better was the smoke & the heat stuff above flames or in the desert.

I tried the X360 and to be honest, I was impressed by the graphics and the new controller, although a little small in my opinion, was great. The thing I don’t really like is that it’s just an Xbox jazzed up with some other mumbo jumbo there to wow you. Not that I’m expecting Sony to do any better, but I now understand where Nintendo is coming from with that remote idea.

I played it yesterday at EB.  call of duty’s graphics, in my opinion, sucked, compared to what i excpected, but kameo and king kong (despite how crappy that game was) had nice effects.  i didnt like the controller too much; ive always been a fan of the really big controllers that came with xbox when it was first released.  the system does look cool, though.  still, i would rather just have a computer than any of the consoles. except possibly for halo 3.

i played it the other day. i thought it was pretty nice. i only played Kameo tho. i guess we will see how it goes as it progresses

Ken, I noticed that the first time I picked up an Xbox controller. Xbox stole the Sega Dreamcast controller design.

Call of Duty on 360 looks like Day Of Defeat on PC. The graphics and gameplay aren’t better on the 360.
