Now everyone’s marketing things for it: C2 (low carb Coke).  Does this mean I can eat as much fat as I want?

Speaking of Low Carb, the Pepsi versino “Pepsi Edge” seems to already be a no go.  From the managers at the Local Giant eagle, they say pepsi isn’t going to produce it anymore, and are trying to clean out their stock of it.  My local giant eagles are selling the 20 oz bottles for 8/$1.00, so $3.00 a case of 20 oz bottles.

lo carb= bad…not to say that high carb is good either…everything in moderation…the whole atkin’s diet, high protein no carb stuff…ya, just see how your kidneys enjoy that kind of abuse for a few months.granted it does work, a few of my friends did it, and they lost the initial weight fast. too bad u gain it back once u eat a piece of bread.

i say: eat what you wanna eat, in some sort of moderation of course. and exercise. i hate “lite” “diet” “reduced fat” anything, they all taste like poo.

Exactly.  You need to consistently and slowly change your diet, because the second you stop, it all comes back.

as you said if you change your diet, as soon as you go back to what you normally eat your screwed, and it will all come back.

My solution to dieting, and to not becoming a fat slob of a computer programmer is drinking the diet, or c2/edge version of pop at work, and then sugar free ice tea, or water at home.  Cutting out a lot of the sugar from all that stuff cuts down on your weight gain a lot more then some would think.

I think it’s here to stay because it works.  I’ve lost 40 pounds so far and feel great.  That said, you have to do it the right way.  These guys eating heaping plates of bacon and hot dogs are all going to end up dead of a heart attack.  The sensible thing to do is eat the right kinds of carbs  I occasionally eat whole grain bread, and I eat lots of veggies which have carbs.  No refined grains or sugars of any kind - that’s it.  I still drink beer, eat pasta (low carb pasta), peanuts, etc.  Whole, unrefined foods…

Everything’s low carb these days. Makes me feel like a fat slob when I see those “Low carb good!” ads.

What’s next? Low carb edible panties?

of course its a fad but thats not to say it doesnt work.

i’ve seen it work all over my family (not me but i did do the diet as a sign of support to my family members who also did the diet, even though no one in my family is near heavy, they all wanted to lose 5 or 10 pounds) and i know it works.  as a short term (2 months) diet its fantastic and there are a lot of foods you can eat.  I wouldnt trust my life on anything from companies like “Carbolite” and “Carbwell” or anything else that seems to be coming right out of some wacky science lab but instead i will eat whole grain natural food, fruits and vegetables, and fiber rich food that is all good for you and digestable by our own stomachs.

Exercise is more important than diet.
Er, I mean,
Imagination is more important than knowledge.

Well, whatever… its something like that
Mr. Atkins is a golddigger.

Bagels were removed from my diet [rather forcefully] and now I’m dead—I guess the low carb diet isn’t all that great after all 8)

lol.. Mr Atkins is golddigger indeed… when he died and they checked out his body, they said it was a mess…. clogged arteries and all… at least he believed in his own diet.
