[quote author=“DougKaplan”]My most recent best under rated game is Sphinx for the GameCube.
I am totally addicted to it.
I took a chance on it thanks to the $7.50 price at Toys R Us (thanks to the clearance) and it even came with a free t-shirt (3 sizes too big but still, its free with the game for that budget price).
Play it and prepare for a feast on the eyes and addictive and flowing gameplay.
What’s it about?

ill have to say secret of mana on the snes. No one ever talk about that game but it was one of the greatest rpg games ever. Have you seen an RPG game where you get first person action while the storyline was great?

You meant it was an action-RPG, correct? Because I don’t recall any first-person perspectives in that game… It was still a great game, though. 8)

Secret of Mana was great when you got a friend to play with you.
And FFX is not underrated, it’s the reason the RPG’s on consoles have had a constant decline in skill and character development. Companies like Square Enix now just pack their games with CG sequences and call it a wrap. Up yours Square, sell out bitches.
Ipon Nichi knows where it’s at.

I have to go with the original Star Control for the Sega Genesis and Return Fire for the 3DO….both are really great two player games that still stand the test of time to me.

FFX was still awesome. But I wrote it off as crap because of those CG sequences. It was boring but when you are about 1/4 into the game it gets good. I got it, played it, got bored with the sequences, put it away, picked it up 2 years later, and beat/enjoyed the hell out of it. Still doesn’t beat FF7 or Chrono Trigger in my book.
Im just getting back into RPGs any other good recommendations?
