the alarm never worked for me if it was close to my bed. I would turn it off in my sleep. I always had to put the alarm across the room, so that it would go off until I get up out of bed, walk over to it, and turn it off. However there were still some days I managed to do all that in my sleep.

if it is across my room i just let it stay on and fall back to sleep
however, these days I rely on the doomsday alarm—I wired my alarm to my home stereo, and ran speakers up to my room and have them on each side of the bed—if that doesn’t wake you up then you are dead, hence the name—also another nice feature is that you have walk downstairs to turn the alarm off—once I walk around I’m awake to stay, but getting to that point is tough.
i know its crazy. Like i went to sleep at 12 and i woke up at 8:30 and couldnt get back to sleep. I usually go to bed at 3-4 wake up at 11 go back to sleep and wake up at 1.
Well, instead of my Alarm clock, I set my cellphone by my bed, and Set it for which time I want it to wake me up, and it wakes me up with my ringtone I downloaded off the internet. Its the remix from “The Frog Theme” from Chrono Trigger.

What I do is i have the alarm completely across the room.. and then I have it set on radio.. but set to a station that doesn’t recieve so it’s just a loud static terrible sound… it’s just such an annoying sound that I make myself get up so i don’t have to hear it anymore haha.

HAHA, I do the *exact* same thing—pretty much verbatim. You and me, Spice :::does the two finger thing from eye-to-eye:::
Here’s what I do:
After being late to work and class too many times to count, I discovered my TV has an alarm built into it. I set this for some station that I know will have annoying news reporters or the like on in the morning and crank that puppy up full blast. Radio and constant regular beeping never really worked for me, too hypnotic sounding I guess.
The 110db screech of the latest death toll at 5am is a guaranteed wakeup call, pisses my roommates off, but works for me.
