Yeah, well that was my personal one. My fam has a couple others that we have had for alot longer. My parents went all out and got a Pioneer Elite for our 60” HD.
I’ve had mine for years, 5 or 6—I bought it at K-Mart for $89 before christmas sale—I figured it was a piece of junk; little did I know they were substituting the really crappy one with a n APEX 600; by itself, not very impressive, but once I got home and hooked it up I relized what made it so special—The genius’ at APEX, #1 forgot to lock down the region, so now I have regions 1-9 selectable, instead of just 1—since then I’ve also further hacked it to play mini-dvd’s and record to my TIVO; altogether a great little DVD player
I have 2 others that I don’t really use too much because they are 5 disc changers and I don’t see the point.
1997. March or april I think. First generation Toshiba model. paid $499 for it. Since then the 4 others that Ive had still havent added up to what I paid for the first one.
Although Im looking at a new Zenith 318 that outputs to 1080i or 720p via component video. Wheee this one is worth $200
I bought a DVD player back in 2000. Then I got a DVD-ROM for my computer a year ago, and ever since then my PC has been my personal DVD player while the other one is used by everyone else in the house.
I got my first DVD player back in 1998 when it was getting popular.
That $300 Panasonic one-disc-player is now a piece of garbage that can’t play nothing but orginal dvds/cds LOL.
But hey it still works..but i don’t use it anymore.
