I use Firefox, because of the tabbed windows and how it’s so damn customizable.

While I would tend to agree due to the large amount of security flaws—however, you must look at what you view when you are on the web—I’ve had ton of problems viewing SSL connections using Firefox or Opera; therefore, sometimes I have no choice but to resort to using IE

That would be me—I use a homebrew browser, still in production—trying to combine the best of all the browsers into a single one.

Perhaps someday—It’s far from perfect…although if I get all the bugs worked out you too can surf the web using ‘Frankenstien’*

*Name given because it incorporates the best of all worlds just like are favorite green monster.

you should make the change. IE sux, you stick with it, you’re gonna have your computer destroyed with spyware and crap. even the gov’t said that IE blows.

Firefox kicks IE’s ass… I switched over about a week ago, and no troubles so far… HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

if you like the tabbed browsing feature and still aren’t sure about switching, try using somethin like Avant Browser . it’s basically an add on to ie that allows for tabbed browsing in a familiar environment.

Doesn’t use any more than IE does, and there’s alot less clutter with the interface.

Regardless of what is said about IE, I still think it is a quality browser—while yes, it does have it’s security flaws, but I’m sure firefox does as well.  Only people aren’t trying to break into it as much as they do with IE.  There wouldn’t be so many problems if people on the web used the least bit of caution—90% of people will open anything that pops up on their screen, or arrives in their email.  Education is the strongest defense against any type of cyber attacks.

Not that I’m pro for any browser—I just wanted to get that off my chest after the day I’ve had with the damn W32.Beagle.AO@mm virus. BTW- We use all windows products in production with the exception of some of our servers.  And we offer a windows training course including how to ID potential security threats, and we have very little problems with system breakins.

Ok, I just switched to Firefox a few days ago from IE. I like the tabbed windows, but I cannot see any pictures in the gear live forums ... or other sites. Also I dont like how firefox handles aimexpress(which i have to use at work), it doesn’t scroll the buddy list, but the whole page.

Any suggestions how to make firefox more user friendly? BTW, i dont have any extra extensions downloaded, what are the best ones? I love the google toolbar autofill option, if that available for firefox? Thx.

IE just became more secure after the XP SP2 install, has a built-in pop-up blocker also and more stuf 😊
