I am entirely for this movie I am reviewing. It sat on my shelf for a very long period of time and I never watched it. Having done so I found out that there is no better military style combat and tracking found in any other movie than ‘The Hunted.’ The knife-fight scenes were exhilarating and the chases in this fast paced hunt were well thought out. It makes Benicio Del Toro look like one bad ass in this film. The stunts performed were really done, no stunt men involved. Tommy Lee Jones was on the ball.
In this story a retired military special-forces trainer (Jones) is called upon by the FBI one day to deal with one of his ex SGT. 1st Class students. He was accused of murdering several inappropriate hunters up north and has been on the run and never found ever since. This is a story of a teacher facing his own teacher’s pet. Aaron Hallam (Benicio) is releasing his own inner demons out on innocent people using his training and has clearly gone half mad. Only the best, only the master who taught him his expert tracking, hunting and combat expertise can face his own. Peacefull (Tommy) living up on the hills in his cabin. He retired many years ago and now he is called upon and tells the FBI to stay off to the side and to not follow him, he has to do this by himself. And God said to Abraham, “Kill me a son.”
