What are some great DVDs that you love?
Right now I think my favorite is Firefly. A TV show that Fox canceled even before the first season was finished. You can get alll of it for about 40 bucks if you shop around a bit. It was created by Joss Whedon, the guy behind Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The story is like an old western set in the future. So you have space ships and laser guns up against horses and six shooters. It sounds a little hoaky, but it is presented in such a smart way that you can believe that the events are happening. Horses and revolvers are easier to maintain when you are on the outerplanets where supplies are hard to come by.
It is the perfect mix of action, comedy, and a little drama. The character development is almost perfect. It was a shame it was canceled. But they are filming a movie based on it right now so thats good.
