also try

network.http.request.timeout

...i dunno if they work, but it seems like the most obvious one available in about:config

I’ve noticed that Firefox “times out” considerably more quickly than IE does, and also displays that cute little Windows error box thing when it happens. Is there any way to adjust Firefox so that it spends more time trying to get the data from a website and not “times out” so soon?

(Forgive my lack of technical jargon. This kind of stuff isn’t exactly my forte.  😊 )

not sure, but try doubleing the value of

network.http.keep-alive.timeout

in “about:config”? worth a try 😉

I changed network.http.keep-alive.timeout, and after much surfing, it appears not to be doing anything for me. I will keep looking for a solution and will post my findings.

What value did you give it?

I doubled it to 600, as benplaut suggested. However, I undid because I didn’t notice any changes.

I will next try doubling the value of network.http.request.timeout to see what happens. Of course, I will keep Googling for a solution as well.
