At Computex 2008, Aiptek is showing its PocketCinema V10 mini projector. This projector is a pocket sized media player that utilizes 3M?s revolutionary projection technology, which is capable of a 50-inch image. For content, you can use a 3-in-1 AV jack, but in addition the projector can also playback videos and photos from a 1GB internal memory (SD/MMC/MS Pro) card, in formats such as JPEG, ASF, AVI and MPEG-4. This projector also features a stereo speaker and a built-in battery.

There has been alot of mini projector lately, i guess they’re the next best thing. But one thing i worry is about the Resolution, and would you even be able to see the projection? i mean, the thing is small, it uses a battery which means that it needs low power components, Weak Lamp, small resolution, etc. I’m staying away from these until a actual HD Projector with a high lumens is announced. Which might be next year…. What do you guys think about this?

Well, I certainly would not use it for a 50” image since, like you said, there will probably be some distortion due to the resolution.  But for smaller projected images, I think this would be fine.  I could see a lot of businesses buying into this product and giving them to employees who might have to meet with a customer to give a presentation.  That way they can always have a projector with them at all times (never know when itll come in use or when you wish you had brought one!)

Haha, that thing is tiny! I don’t know how small it actually is and what it would look like, but I would love to play with it one day in the future and just experiment with it. I’ve never heard of a mini-projector before, why would you want to make projections smaller…hmm….

Hmm. I think mini projector is only tiny and easy to carry. There are no other better advantages for them. As those projectors are lacking of brightness and resolutions. Definitely it is very convenient for
business man and for kids have fun. All in all, I prefer to standard projectors. And I look forward the new technology of mini projectors with high resolution and brightness, I think technology can change everything, it is just a matter of time.
