Firefox 3 is based on the Gecko 1.9 Web rendering platform, which has been under development for the past 33 months. Building on the previous release, Gecko 1.9 has more than 14,000 updates including some major re-architecting to provide improved performance, stability, rendering correctness, and code simplification and sustainability. Firefox 3 has been built on top of this new platform resulting in a more secure, easier to use, more personal product with a lot more under the hood to offer website and Firefox add-on developers.

Thanks for the link!  I just updated to Mozilla Firefox 3.0 RC 2 just a few minutes ago using your link.  I really love Firefox 3 over the previous versions because it is a lot faster, and the UI is a lot sleeker and cleaner.  In my opinion, the UI of Firefox 2 was not round enough.  My absolutely favorite feature of Firefox 3 is that when you click on the address bar, it gives you the URL and the Titles of all the pages you have visited recently.  This is extremely useful as often I do not know what the URL is, but I can recognize the title.  RC2 seems to be just fit and finish improvements, along with fixing a lot of other minor bugs that were present in RC1.

By the way, The address bar also searches in your bookmarks which I found it excellent feature, it’s veeeeeeeerrrrrrrrry fast. I just write “Ge” and select Gear Live. If there is no issues arise from this release, then RC2 will be the final version.

Even though i’m supporting Firefox 3 Download day, i’m not going to use their RC or Betas, most of the plug-ins i use don’t support FFX 3 yet, so i would have to live add-on free for about a month. I’m staying with FFX 2 untill download day. But i’ve seen the screen shots and videos of how ffx 3 works, it seems like it’s a huge improvement, the anti-phishing, the new GUI, the new address bar, the Bookmarks, etc. and it’s performance increase. just talking about makes me want to go download it, but my add-ins don’t support it yet. :(
