What if your car consumed carbon monoxide instead of spewing it out? Just such a vehicle was unveiled at last month?s SAE Congress in Detroit, which showcased some exciting green trends in the automotive industry. BMW stole the spotlight with its hydrogen-powered 7-series sedan that emits less carbon monoxide than is present in its environment. The car?s engine breaks down and converts carbon monoxide, essentially cleaning the air as it is driven.

I think that BMW would be taking a big step in helping our environment if this car is going into production, but the cost of building a Hydrogen Car is currently overly expensive and also the fact that BMW cars are greatly built, the cost is higher. The main problem with all these “green technology” is with the distribution of the technology. If 1/5 people can afford the car, the non green population would still be 4/5 of the original 5/5, not doing much healing at all. thus, unless companies can deliver “green techology” with a cost that 3/5 of the population can afford, green technology cannot save our environment, or our world.

You still need that 1/5 people who can afford the car though to buy it—over time the prices will fall and it will become affordable to the mass public.  But I won’t believe it till I actually see it on the display room floor with a sticker on it… We have been promised vehicles like this for a long time but the car companies do not seem to follow through on their promises (remember Chevy’s electric car a decade or two ago?)

This is great news. Now people don’t have to worry about emitting harmful carbon monoxide into the air when they drive their cars!
