this is useful, but i read on some pages a while back that not all computers allow booting from external drives

Your mobo BIOS need to have an option for it.

First, insert the flsh drive into an USB port & check your BIOS’s boot portion & see if there’s any option of booting from a USB HDD or Flash Drive.Then check the Boot device Priority section & see if the flash drive’s name appears there or not.If you can find the device in the boot device priority section then you can use the flash drive to boot from. 😉
