Windows XP is still dominates the market and most likely most of us will stick with XP for a while because Vista slows down your PC. Live CD is one methods to avoid lots of hassle. Well, one of the easiest ways create a Live CD is by using a software called pebuilder. Using it, you can create an XP Live CD in about 15 minutes!
Here?s all the software you will need:

1. Download pebuilder
2. Get Plugins: xpe-1.0.7.cab (the GUI shell) from here. Other plugins from here.
3. Nero Building ROM or other CD Burning software
4. Bootable XP CD

Thank you much, I printed this out and will make one as soon as I have the time. Right now I hve an Ubuntu live CD for emergencies, but an XP live CD would make it really easy to work on other peoples’ computers.

Although Linux has many tools, XP is compatible with many common tools. This will be great when the phone rings:

“BRADY… My computer’s broken!”

I like windows xp but if I had the chance to get windows vista I would. My mom has windows vista and as far as graphics it is pretty good on that, plus its just a smooth program. Not much difference from windows xp I dont think.

There’s actually a alternative to creating a Windows XP Live CD, for Windows XP, before Microsoft acquired Winternals, they created the Winternals ERD, a bootable Recovery Live CD, you can still get the CD if you search for it.. it’s less then 185MB.

Now that Microsoft has acquired Winternals, you can still get their software and tools, but now it’s called Windows Sysinternals.
