I Hate rap with a passion. I believe it is totally over rated on Much Music and other music stations. But then again rap is a style of music that suiets differnt peoples tastes. I deffintely do not like rap though, just doesnt apeal to me. So you got my vote!

Bah, you hate rap? you wanna try living where I live, I have a right bunch of #### students (not trying to offend students btw I am a student myself) who play very loud rap all day, all night ... and living in a terrist house you can imagine how loud it is. Luckyly for me the university we all go to has some strict rules on being loud but i’m sure there volume knob has been moving back up.
Whatever happened to the glory days of rock?

Yeah, but if theyre not blasting rap, theyre blasting crappy heavy metal, like metallica or slipknot and other such crap. REALLY LOUD.

It’s just you.
I’m not much for the “gangster rap” and all the new rap which is coming out, but I do like old school rap (some of the classics like Grandmaster Flash) and “underground” rap which tends to have some really good tunes and beats to it.
You can’t just tar an entire genre - especially one so broad like rap with the same brush.

flippy - 15 January 2006 06:29 PM Ok well i really think rap sucks ass i hate rap and MTV has to put it all over there channel i dont watch MTV anymore casue of all the damn rap. Is anyone else tired of rap or is it jsut me?
Of course the rap that MTV plays is ####, all the pop music they play is, you don’t find good music on MTV unless your a 12 year old girl. To say that all rap sucks is like saying all rock sucks, there is good rap and bad rap good rock and bad rock.

I like some “old school rap”, but I can’t stand “gangsta rap” or pretty much anything they play on Muchmusic, MTV, or the radio stations.

I feel the same exact way, I do not like a ton of the newer stuff but a lot of the older and underground stuff has some great beats and ryhmes and I really like it….

I can handle some rap but even then like houseguests and fish, after three days they both stink. Rap just gets so repetative, unimaginative, and it’s the same exhausting beat over and over again with the lyrics basically saying the same thing for far too long. And yes it is all over the airwaves and tv and there seems no end in sight.

I used to think that rap was the worst thing ever but after I found some bands that I liked I realized it all wasn’t bad. You can’t judge rap by that crap on MTV.

I’m with ya buddy! It seems to me that there is no way rap could be considered music. I consider rap talking to a beat…. To me that is not pleasing to hear at all.
I don’t mind a little hiphop here and there, or even country; but I like to stick with the classics:
Beatles
Billy Joel
Journey
Foreigner
etc…

I can’t stand rap at times but there are some songs that really aren’t that bad. As everyone loves different kinds of ice-cream, everyone is different and will like different tastes in music. I don’t really HATE rap, but I dislike it.

I don’t listen American music at all. Personally, if I hear rap at school coming from one of the preppy popular people, I resist the murderous urge to assault them until their voice boxes are permanently broken.
Rap is vulgar, uncensored to a fault, trashy, insulting, and the basis of almost all American culture. We do not need any more extolling of sex, rape, drugs, smoking, drinking, violence, etc.
I seem to be the only 1 at school to hate rap with a passion. They think I’m crazy. Che.
No wonder I don’t know anything about American entertainment culture. And frankly saying, I’m not missing much.
Anime music is what you must listen to, it beats rap any time of the week.

Agreed, DOOOM. I mean if I hear “Crank that Souja Boy” one more time I will murder someone. I’m serious. I’m even including those weird Dora the Explorer, The Lion King, and Mulan remixes of the song. No wonder America has become ignorant, obese, lazy, and an enemy to itself. Che.

i agree with half of ur reply, crank dat anything puts my ears on the verge of bleeding
but the later half of ur comment is completely off
i dont know where you live, if ur in the united states or not, but the majority of people i know arent anywhere stupid enough to listen to this crap. lol i really dont see how its physically possible to like that song. but ignorant are the people that started those stereotypes 😉
