I think Half Life would be the game I would choose.

Just imagine the film follows the intro of the game right up to after the explosion and then all of a sudden you chuck in a large slice of the aliens type of movie.  Maybe a little bit of the feel of predator for the suspense and I think you could have a really great movie.

I know this line is copyrighted but you have you put these lines in the movie.

Well that’s it. We’re in some pretty sh*t now.  What are we going to do now ha.

Maybe we cold build a fire and sings songs or something.

Game over man.  Game over.  We’re F**ked.

Yes I Really, Really, Reaaly like Aliens the movie and perhaps if Half Life was treated in a similar vain to that movie, it might be awesome.

What do you think?

The Metal Gear series. Heck, they’re already half way there. 😉

Also, I think in order for Half Life to work as a half-way decent movie they’re going to have to have it as an alternative story. I mean, Gordon doesn’t do nearly enough talking to become a great movie character. I think adding a voice to Gordon Freeman would be like revealing what Master Chief looks like. You’re going to have to make damn sure it’s good or else you’ve wrecked a cool character.

I was thinking of having Gorden Freeman in the same vain as Conan in Conan the Barbarian.  Most of the film he doesn’t say anything and it’s the characters around him that does almost all of the talking.

I was also thinking of maybe it could be done from the point of view of the soilders that have to clean up the mess.  Now that would definately be a predator rip off, but it just might work.

I think Morgan Freeman should play Gordon Freeman.

Im pretty deep into the Warcraft Lore, it would be a heck of a challenge, but done right a movie based on the Warcraft universe could be the greatest thing ever.
I know one is coming, I’m sceptical, but the universe Blizzard has created would make an awesome series of film, because there is no bloody way that it could be captured in one movie.

The thing I was hoping for when I first heard the rumours about the Warcraft movie was that it would be a series of full length CG movies, spanning the entire lore. It would no way in hell become a commercial success, so it would probably never happen.

As far as story in games go, Warcraft really is in a class of its own.

Hah, I forgot about that. Now that you mention it I do remember hearing about it before. I hope it’s good.

On another note, I would like to see a Warhammer movie either in the vein of Dawn of War or Mark of Chaos, both of which had some awesome videos in them.

I was thinking of tetris as a movie in the vein if clerks; where the game is just a prop for some people to bitch about there lives and talk about tetris as some sort of icon of life it self, or something just a bizzare

Then I, too, am a tool. I think the world could do with another Final Fantasy movie. They’re getting progressivly better.

Isn’t Kingdom Hearts pretty much a movie already? I don’t know as I’ve never played it.

Dead Rising wouldn’t be too bad of a zombie flick I suppose.

Sam Fisher could give James Bond some competition in just about any Splinter Cell based movie.

Hi, I’m David, btw. Been listening to all the the podcasts and following the site for a little over a year now since it was at the original Gamer Andy Live. Just decided to start adding my 2 cents in starting now.

I believe there ARE Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell movies in the works.

As far as others, Hlaf-Life would be cool and maybe Gears of war.

Huh, I didn’t know there was a Splinter Cell movie in the works as well. This should be quite interesting. Eventually.

I loved it the first time. I loved it the second time. I’d love it with a slightly different plot. As far as I’m concerned, you can’t go far wrong with zombies. 😉

Maybe a Gears of War movie with a Saving Private Ryan style would not be bad.

How about Call of Duty 4? I know the game is not out yet, but I think the scenario is pretty cool.

I can’t wait to see what they do with the Splinter Cell franchise, and HL2 would be a great movie.
