[quote author=“pogue”]I think MS is already projecting loses for xbox360

Tell me where you heard this?

[quote author=“pogue”]I’d say Sony has it in the bag.

Its a year away, how can you say that?  I think that the 360 will have a huge advantage in that its out first and at Christmas time.  The PS3 and its summer release date are kinda wacky.  I wouldn’t be surprised if the PS3 was delayed for Christmas.  I think MS will take a chunk of Sony’s market share and PS3 and 360 will be about equal.  Nintendo is for little kids that like Pok?mon and people that buy consoles for 1 game (Zelda)...

As far as worldwide, I’m gonna have to say Sony. Xbox sales haven’t been strong in other countries. I don’t think that’s going to change much with the XBox 360.
Yes, the 360’s gonna come out first, but I think the PS3 will end up being the stronger system as far as sales.

I agree w/ Wolfeman.. Nintendo’s just out of it. They market to the wrong niche, kids. Because of that their systems are labeled as a system for kids. Their market’s too small for them to make much of a splash.

I’m sorry to break it to Sony fans but their own President stated it will not be cheap and not aimed at households. Yeah, I don’t get that statement either. As far as the Xbox 360 not having that much popularity in other countries (japan specifically) Microsoft is extremely hard at overcomming that. They have hired a lot of popular developers to make Xbox 360 exclusives as well as gained some popularity during its last summit. They are really trying to get more developers excited about their hardware so as to have the best software selection of any console. We’ll have to wait and see if they live up to everything. One misconception is the “limited” backwards compatabilty. Microsoft has signed an agreement with Nvidia to pay them a royalty of every console sold so as to ensure that most, if not all, older games will play on the new console. Of course most of the popular games are already confirmed to play on the new console (Halo 2 for example) so that shouldn’t matter too much.

So far it seems that the Xbox 360 will take it, because they have been investing so much in marketing and building up hype. The best thing they have going for them is the general excitement they have received from developers and the passion they have demonstrated about their console. That alone says a lot about the work done to try to make the console the best.

Nintendo has definately gained that “little kiddie game” title, but they are trying to get rid of it by getting some FPS games in their list as well as the type of RPGs we all loved from Nintendo. It will definately be interesting to see what that company will do in order to try to climb back near the top of gamer’s hearts.

I voted, try to guess which one I chose 😉  :mischeif:

companys say the PS3 will not be aimed for homes and will be expensive but i know for a fact that it will only be ?300 wen it comes out and many stores will have offers like trade in your ps2 and games and get it for half price or something like that. :D

that is why the 360 and the revo hav no chance 8)

That’s basically the only reason I bought it last time. Zelda and Mario. And as far as who does better in sales, let’s rememner the PS3 is going to be pretty damn expensive and according to Sony its not aimed at house holds . Also let’s not forget that there is a chance that the HD accessory for the PS3 is not meant for games , which if it is the case it would push back the evolution of Sony a whole great deal.

However the Sony does have one huge advantage that absolutely no one can deny, and that is Blu-Ray. Not to mention that they may use an Apple OS for the PS3, in my opinion that would be one of the best partnerships ever made.  It would be Sony and Apple vs. Microsoft.

All there money didn’t help with Xbox vs PS2.

A recent survey showed Japan didn’t care about the 360 at all. (I forget the numbers but it was something like 2% want a 360.)

There Xbox division hasn’t made a cent except for the quarter that Halo 2 came out in. I’m just wondering if they will make an Xbox 3 if they lose a whole lot of money on the 360 also.

i think nitendo revolution will have the best graphics and be the best console power wise, but i think it will lack games.

xbox 360 will have the best online gameplay but i dont think the graphics are that much better than the current graphics. I belive they are realsing in November because they are aware that their console will not be the best but they want people to still buy it before PS 3 just like the DS.

PS3 will have great graphics with good online play and they always have the best/most games, so I belive the PS3 will be the best console.
