Hi. I have a problem with my ipod and I was hoping I could get some help here.

I recently got a new laptop. I put EphPod 2 on it to transfer the songs from my ipod to the new laptop. Now when I try to use Itunes either on the laptop or the older computer, It gives me the message: itunes cannot read the contents of ipod. use the ipod software updater to restore the ipod to factory settings

How can I use my ipod on two computers without it screwing up? And how can I use it with Itunes now that EphPod is recognizing it?

Ephpod sucks, it messes up your iPod.

Is there anyway I can keep Ephpod from being the default program for my ipod and turn it back to Itunes?

Uninstall Ephpod.

Well, Itunes won’t recognize my ipod on my laptop or the desktop. Ehpod is only on the laptop.

I guess I’ll give it a try…

After uninstalling Ephod, here’s what you do:
1. Go Here and download the software.
2. Start> Programs>iPod>iPod Updater
3. Click on restore and let it go through.

Warning: this will cause all the songs on the iPod to be erased so make sure you have a backup.

This will cause everything to return to its original state. This will ensure that iTunes works with it.

Is there anyway I can use still use Itunes with it, but keep all my songs, play counts, ratings, playlists, etc… ?

I’ve got everything organized really nice, and it would take me awhile to get it back how I have it.

All your songs will be saved if they are still in your pc. There is nothing you can do about alkl the other stuff since I think you need iTunes to keep that.
