My mom is a real estate agent and she was selling this 2+ million dollar house with an actual theater upstairs. It was a black room with 8 theater seats. The compnents were all right outside the room in a rack system. Along the hall to the room were movie posters. It was awesome.

I can’t wait until I get a home, mostly so that I can set up all those nice curtains, lighting, easy-chairs, and a huge screen to catch all my favorites on.  Right now I have my set in the living room of a one-bedroom apartment.  :(

My wife and I went to a christmas party this past year and the people hosting it were showing the SEC championship game in their theater which was a room probably close to 800 square feet with about 5 rows of these big overstuffed leather recliners, about 6 per row. There was a big velvet curtain in the front pulled to the side of a 15 foot screen lit by a projector. They even had a little fake balcony in the back and running along the side walls and the floor was sloped like a real theater and had little running lights on the floor and fake stars (like little lights…not glow in the dark stickers or anything) on the ceiling.. It was the most rediculous thing I had ever seen until we went upstairs and saw the children’s theater which was a room about the same size with a stage on it where the children would put on little plays. It had a functioning curtain and seats and it looked like a little tiny opera house…I was floored.

Me…I’ve got a little TV room with a 27” Wega, a nice comfy chair and sofa, and my cheapo Logitech surround sound set-up. At night with the lights out and the surround sound pumping, it’s not so bad.

Yes, I have wanted this dream forever!

I have always wanted a dedicated room in my house that is just like a mini-movie theater, with those leather recliners and such. I absolutely love movies!

The dream comes closer to being a reality. Prices on front projector systems are falling, and a very good one can be had for about $2000 now. You can get a multimedia one for around $900-1000, but the bulb isn’t likely to last as long as a good projector. I know some guys at school who bought one and split it between the 5 of them, they are renting a house this year though, so its not that big a deal to split the cost.

Very very cool, projectors are.

I just got back from vacation visiting some of my parents friends.  They had a movie theater in their basement, my TV looks so small now.  😢

I would show off my theatre SO BAD!   With the movie posters and everything.  And things are getting cheaper by the day too.

yet another thing to add to my “when i’m a billionaire” list.  Of course it would also be my computer room with a monitor like that. just get a wireless keyboard and mouse with a mousepad on the armrest.  I really hope i become a billionaire.
