Simple Idea. Post your computer(s) specs.
Homebuilt/bought?

I have 3 that see almost everyday use. Another waiting for a HD to be a HTPC. 5 others (complete) and a old laptop that dont get used anymore. And a few partials, plus a few box loads of parts.

Main PC
Antec Plusview1000amg case (w/6 case fans[4 LED])
MSI K8T Neo-FIS2R Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 2800+
512MB Kingston PC3200 Ram
6GB IBM Bigfoot HD (main)
5x160 Maxtor HD’s (4x7200rpm,8mb 1x5400,2mb)
Khypermedia 48x24x48 CD-RW
NEC ND-2500 8x DVD-+RW
Cheap gf2 Video Card

I’ll get around to the rest in a short bit.

3 computers that get use:

“SERVER”
Pentium II 266Mhz
192MB SDRAM
Maxtor 60 GB HD
Win XP Pro, Apache

“HTPC”
Antec Overture HTPC enclosure
AMD Athlon XP Barton 2500+ CPU w/ heatsink/fan
Abit NF7-s Rev. 2 Motherboard
Nec DVD+/-RW ND-2500A (silver) DVD burner
Crucial PC3200 DDRAM 512MB
Sapphire ATI Radeon 9600 128 MB 8X AGP
Maxtor 60gb hard drive
Western Digital 160gb hard drive 8mb cache
Hauppauge PVR250 + SageTV

“Portable Box”
Compaq Evo N800c laptop
Pentium 4 Mobile 1.7ghz
256 MB DDRAM
60 GB HD
15.1 LCD

The Portable Box gets the most use, because mainly I lounge around in bed before I go to sleep or after I wake up. Better than sitting at a desk all day when you can just pop your knees up in bed and surf the web. But the HTPC is pimp, too.

PC- used primarily for games
-AMD XP 1600+
-768mb PC2700 RAM
-Radeon 9800

-all in a super quiet antec sonata case

Mac-used primarily for design/audio/video work

I have two home built ones, but they blow. 😊 THey are both outdated and over 4 years old. It’s time to upgrade, but I don’t have the funds yet.

One is an Athlon 850 and the other is an athlon 1ghz.

Hey I was wanting to learn more about computer hardware building and parts, because I want to build my own comp and i have friends that want me to build them comps. My current level of knowlage, is well Im able to put in a new power supply, and I can pop in usb/firewire ect cards. Is there like a training corse on the net for this, or lilke can someone teach me some stuff? :?
