Well, if you think they are both evil, then neither :D Give your vote to Nader :D
I once overheard this conversation, between four Libertarians (one of which was a Russian tourist), at this cozy spot called “The Safe House”, on Speedway in Tucson. It’s an odd structure, purposely poorly lit, serving only non-alcoholic beverages, intentionally, with their recovering “bottom-of-the-bottle” clientele in mind. There is a one-drink minimum; however, most of the selections were coffee-related, but I was fortunate enough (for my own tastes) to purchase a Peach Fountain Drink.
The eldest Liberal seemed to be the most non-extremist of the group, talking relatively calm and logically. Throughout their entire conversation, I sat silently, paying attention to every word. I thought of all the arguments I could make to rebut their statements, but I was too intrigued to break up the flow of discussion. One thing that struck me as odd but true, was a point he made about voting for Nader. He said, that voting for Nader, or, a third party, actually made your voice heard.
But, then he said that this election “wasn’t about” having his voice heard, it was about removing Bush. Which, is where I shook my head, stood, and left. If you don’t stand for your ideals, and vote accordingly, then why do you even bother involving yourself in Politics? I mean, sure, I can disagree with someone. That’s fine. In America, you’re allowed the freedoms of having your own beliefs.
How is it that these people could be so entrenched in their own ideology, yet totally lose sight of what they believe in; so blinded by hatred, that they don’t see that Kerry is not their representative, and not who they want to be President?
After Dean tugged all the Democrats way off the Left end, all you were left with was Kerry? Is it because one poll showed that people might vote for him over Bush? :shakes head: ...for a group of people with such astute goals, it saddens me to see Kerry as your nominee. Lieberman should have been your candidate, at least he’s a sane person with sound mind. And, he’s not ready to just do a 180 on terrorism; he’s acknowledged the fact that 9/11 actually happened.
I know one thing, I’ll never vote to replace someone, I’ll always vote to elect a person for President; the highest office our great country has to offer to it’s citizens. If Bush weren’t on the ballot, I’d vote for Lieberman (even though he isn’t the Democratic Nominee).
