I think it let’s you turn on some of the features that Apple crippled. Such as voice recording. It is not yet available for the 4th Generation iPod.

i think it adds some PDA functions, and lets you read text files.

the biggest reason is that it makes you look geeky :D

Note: Does Not work on 4G iPods

.:Edit:.

ridv, that was FAST!!!

You can’t type on the iPod. It has to be typed on the computer and transfered to the iPod.

i would think that if you had an onscreen keyboard you would be able to use the clickwheel to move to you letter, then the center select button to pick the letter.  it may be slow, but it beats having to wait until you get to a comp to create a .txt file.

I’m not insulting you, but you sir are mistaken. It is possible, with programming a keyboard can be made EASILY. There are what noobs call “online keyboards”. It is possible, just the lazy programmers haven’t made it. I’m currently making it so with the Web Browser on PSP a web-bar which you will be able to surf sites without linking them, etc. It is possible, and when i recieve my 60 GIG photo on wendsday, im going to start programming.

I’m not saying it isn’t possible.  They are asking what you can do with iPod Linux.  What is there when they first install it, what extra capabilities it gives them.  It does not include an onscreen keyboard, and so you can not type with it.
