There are a couple reasons I have, you know. First is that everytime I hear non-mainstream music it sounds weird, and not instantly catchy. I simply don’t like it. Are there are any songs out there I am guaranteed to like? The other reason is that I won’t be able to play those songs for others because they won’t already know it, so we get less enjoyment as a group.
I wonder if ya’ll can understand this.
That’s funny because I typically listen to non-mainstream music only (with the exceptions of certain bands like Switchfoot and Chevelle) and jump at every opportunity to share with my friends the music I listen to.
As for catchiness, if you are into rock I can point you towards a few songs that I think you might find “catchy” off the bat.
Project 86 - A Shadow On Me
Anberlin - Never Take Friendship Personal
Letterkills - Don’t Believe
if you like hip hop check out John Reuben (song I recommend is “Thank You”). he is very different yet in a good way because he just tries to be himself and not like all other hip hop artists out there so that makes him great.
