Not sure if this belongs here or in free stuff. I didn’t see it in either forum and I’d rather it not get lost over on the free stuff.
Bought a 1 liter Mountain Dew and got a free song today. And an entry to win a free iPod Mini.
Anyone else get a free one yet?

haven’t tried. you know you can tilt the bottle and see if its “play again soon!” or an actual code for an itune?

That’s exactly how I found this bottle was a winner. BTW, it works so much better for 1 liter bottles than the 20 oz ones.

Got another one today… this was from the Maverik store with the 44 oz. fountain cup.
99 cents and I got more soda than the 1 liter bottle and a free song.

The 44oz fountain cups seem to be good for me on getting a free song. Out of 5 that I bought, 4 had songs.
Of course, the bigger prize is the hourly drawings for iPod Minis. Each free song is an entry.

I used that trick years ago for pepsi’s “Free Stuff Points” contest (anyone remember that?), but then they modified the bottles (th3 20oz ones) so that you couldn’t see through. However, you can still see through 20 oz cokes 😊 I won a free 2liter fanta 😊

I dont care for pay services in getting music. 😉 I know they would be free like that but ACC format sucks too. 😉

You know, I am the same way, dissolution.
Am very much against DRM. I bought the song, I should be trusted to use it - just like I’ve been trusted for years with CDs.
I have to admit that iTunes is the best and most liberal of the DRM sites. The ACC format isn’t too bad, with the exception that it only plays on iTunes and the iPod.
There is software that helps make it easier to backup and ensure you don’t have to pay 99 cents again if you hard drive crashes. 😉

So far, I’ve gotten 16 free songs from buying sodas, mostly the 44 oz fountain cups.
And so far, haven’t had to buy a single song from iTunes. Have used the free ones from soda and the 5 free I got when I first signed up via PayPal.

WOW ... 16 ... you drink a lot of soda.
I got one today! :D I was thirsty and was in the mood for some Mountain Dew Code Red. (20oz) and got one. :D Don’t usually buy 20oz bottles since I mainly drink from fountan drinks on fast food places and such or 12oz cans at home.

I’m 2/2 (thanks to the “tilt”) and don’t knock AAC, its actually a better sound quality then mp3 is… even at low bit rates, it produces true stereo. The only thing going against aac is the Apple monopoly… but I’m a happy ipod user 8)

Yeah… I do, but it’s picked up for this promotion. Normally only drink 4 sodas a week (20 oz bottles).
Cool to see Code Red bottles with iTunes caps on them. And even cooler to win.

I hate Pepsi. I found a program that will remove iTunes m4p songs’ protection (as long as you are the one that bought it). It removes DMR so you can convert the song to what format you like, for me to MP3 so I can use my id3 tag editors…
