I hate EMO. Its so pointless. Music is supposed to make you feel good and give you some type of pleasure out of listening it. It is certainly not supposed to make you want to slit your wrist because your last girlfriend left you. And for gods sake can someone please tell these kids they are not rebels for wearing the type of clothing they wear? |

There’s plenty of good emo out there. But, if you’re talking about newer “emo” bands such as Simple Plan, New Found Glory, Story of the Year, Something Corporate, Hawthorne Heights, etc, then yes, it sucks. :D |

Hahaha..
To be honest I like the music but dislike the poseurs who think they’re emo just because they listen to dashboard confessional and cut themselves for attention. I’m not saying I’m an emo person… I happen to have a diverse taste in music (my preferences are hardcore, metal, and emo/screamo however).... and tend to dress to please myself and could care less what others think about how I dress.
Some good emo bands include underoath, dead poetic, emery, the juliana theory, and letterkills (they’re more like a mixture between emo, punk, and anthem rock though).

I enjoy emo in the sense that the music is emotional and has meaning. But these screamo (hawthorne heights) and softcore emo (fall out boy) bands make me cringe. |

i like it. i hate stereotypes who think all emo kids are depressed kids who cry all the time, wear square black rimmed glasses, and wear girl pants. thats completely not true. i listen to emo and i dont wear those glasses, i wear contacts. i barely ever cry and if i do, its not from pointless depression. i rarely wear girl pants, and if i do i do it like once every 3 months. |

I’m all for the emo culture. My idea of a good time is to put on some makeup, wear some black clothes that don’t match, and bitch about how nobody understands me. Yessiree, that’s my ideal day…
