I used limewire in the past, as well as bearshare, Morpheus, Napster, gnutella, and aimster. But, like I’ve said, I quit downloading music.

I might just keep RealRhapsody for 10 bucks a month, just because on demand music is probably worth the 10 bucks, as opposed to trying to steal…

[quote author=“minijigga”]Andru, I used to do that on my ps1. It is fun to see it work :D

Kazaa, I have nearly 5k songs from kazaa and other sources on my computer, with about another 2-5k on discs that I burned as archival copies. When downloading on Kazaa, make sure you download the file that has the highest file size of the bit rate you are choosing. Beware of the files that have the highest file size, and are seemingly too long (8 mins). If you run into a file that is of good file size, but bad length, go check freedb.org and check to see the actual file length. It is possible to download good files on Kazaa, but you just have to work at it…And sometimes, you’ll have to go over the 192 kbps and get maybe 256 or 320 kbps, but other times you’ll have to downgrade and get 128 or 160 kbps.

this is basically what i do. i dont use Kazaa anymore tho. i use Kazaa Lite K+++. but i dont even use that now that much. i just go to sum of the main forums im on and download mixtapes and full albums.  oh yea if u do use Kazaa try to use any version b4 2.2 i think. well thats what i did. i neva upgraded pass Version 2.0.. cuz they started to add crap and then advertising started real hard.

Yeah to support the company i used rhapsody this month. Its only 10 bucks and i get to legally get a bunch of songs.

The only bad part is that there’s a few songs that rhapsody doesn’t have that i REALLY want, so i dont really know what else to do…

but rhapsody is still a nice program, it has a huge variety regardless.

Kazaa crashed my computer millions of times, and I was sick of it. So I changed to WinMx.

It may take a while to get used to. Let the searches run for around 10 minutes or more that way you will get alot of results, sort by speed to find people you can get the best speed from. The program doesn’t give instant satisfaction in the way of kazza or some others, but it is really reliable. If you search for an artist you can get full albums, I reccomend browsing a certain user if you see some music you like they may have other artists of similiar interest that way you can learn about new artists and hear new music. Get a lineup of of things to download, leave your computer on during the night and wake up to tons of new music. I really like it because of the ability to get artists/albums that I could never find using the other clients. I like music that isn’t on mtv or the radio. (ie: the good music) 😊

I really hate KaZaA. Bittorrent is the best. Use it with Azureus.

You could use programs to block people from telling that you’re using P2P’s, but you have to update them often. The best ones are Blocklist Manager, PeerGuardian and Protowall. You can check them out here , or search Google.

P2P’s like KaZaZ that have the search function, allowing you to search for users themselves, are really not safe. RIAA can search for users just through there, find your IP, and find out your location. Not good.

I still use Kazaa on occasion, not that often though, really only for individual songs I’m looking for. If I want a whole album or whatever else, I’ll use bittorrent.
