is it beginning to live up to you expectations again? Or why else have you returned?, you have definatly been more involved in this website than I have…so when I see that GL symbol over on the left I will bow.
Just because you have connections dosent mean your kid cant get something stolen talkshowhost. I also want to see pictures though, even if its just because its exciting.
No problem. I will take screenshots and pictures with my digital. Also I mostly read the gadget section but I do check the forums for interesting post. Although alot are spam which drives me away.
Pintetastic im just saying its quite a coincidence that he has all these great ads ready and his son got his iriver stolen. But yeah i’ll believe you with pictures.

i am peanut - don’t despair. Even though you probably wouldn’t be able to spend a lot of money or do a huge advertising campaign like some people, I’m sure that you could easily come up with an innovative idea that could rival GeeksOnline’s efforts. Digging Gear Live’s articles is a great start, and after that, all it would take is one or two creative ideas to put you right there in the running to win this prize. After all, you can’t win if you don’t try.
i am peanut - want easy entries? Digg and Netscape our stories, and subscribe to a bunch of free magazines. You have about 90 entries just by subscribing to magazines alone…

How do we know how many entries we have?
All they need to know is your digg/netscape username. At the end of the contest, they’ll go through each of their stories on digg/netscape and give you +1 for each time you voted for their story. At least that’s how I’m guessing they’d do it. It would take a little time, but it would be very accurate. So remember - if you are digging/netscaping their stories, be sure to include your username here.
I of course have been digging a lot. I need to get to work on netscape soon as well. I also took your survey. Does that count?
So really then all you will get entrys for is digging/netscaping? I tryed the digging but didn’t get the whole idea.
When you digg/netscape an article, you are essentially voting for it. In a way, you’re saying “this is a good article, I think that other people should read it.” Digg/Netscape use the number of votes an article gets along with some other data to determine how an article gets ranked on its site. If an article is posted and quickly gets a large number of diggs, it will probably go straight to the Digg front page. A ton of people visit Digg everyday, so if your article makes it to the front page, it is sure to receive a lot of new readers, resulting in many more visitors to your site. In fact, many sites crash because they receive so many hits in such a short time. If Gear Live were to get this sort of attention, it would also likely get many more people interested in the site, resulting in more long-term readers and forum contributors. This is the main goal of digging Gear Live articles. Digging them is also good because when people search Digg for an article, they’d be more likely to find a Gear Live article.
There are also many more ways to enter besides digging/netscaping. You can advertise for Gear Live on your website/blog/forum sig/AIM away message, etc. You can do something even more innovative. Example - instead of putting a political ad in your front yard, you could print up a Gear Live ad and stick it out there. Take a picture of it and post a link to it here if you want. That is sure to get you many entries. These are just some examples. I know that people can think of many more creative ways. Remember - it doesn’t take a lot of money, just a little thought and a few minutes of your time. Plus, you’ll be helping this great site out in the process.
In answer to the other question - yes, you have until the end of August to post what you did. However, don’t forget to post - August is almost over! You wouldn’t want your efforts to go to waste, would you?
Well I done alot including subscribing to mags and putting links on my websites and blogs, and all the forums i’m a member of. Including putting the gear live articial in the Los Angeles Newsletter to over 500,000 people.
I tryed to dig but it asked me to post the thing all over again when I clicked on the vote for this on the homepage :(
