I am going to do my best to curb my enthusiasm, and I am not one to pat myself on the back too much, but I did go 10-4 this past weekend in the NFL. I am now over .500 for the year, and must maintain The Dean’s Principles to keep it rolling in Week 7.

Through 5 weeks the NFL has been knocking the snot of me. Some of it is my fault, actually all of it is my fault, but I am not able to bear the whole burden right now. I need to shovel some of the responsibility elsewhere. The outcome as I sit here today is that I am being challenged to stay the course.

I am hovering around .500 for the season, but my real concern is to be over .575 with my 4-star and 5-star games. To get closer to the that goal I will need the Texans and Colts to cover their modest spreads.

What a terrific set-up. Reggie Bush of the New Orleans Saints, primarily believed to be an NFL disappointment, believed to be close to bringing NCAA sanctions on a USC football program because he reportedly took under-the-table payments, has a break-out performance on Monday Night Football against the Minnesota Vikings. Who could see that one coming?

Lions, Rams and Chiefs, Oh My How Horrible!

Perhaps it isn’t fair to pick on the Rams since they didn’t actually lose last week. But the other two, the Lions and the Chiefs, they are definitely horrible.
