Fashion Police: Ashley Benson’s Confused Dress
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities,
It's one thing to be bold with your film roles. It's a whole other thing to be bold with your style - especially when your dress screams, "Too much bold fashion can be a bad thing!"
Such is the case with Ashley Benson, who wore this Frankenstein version of the little black dress for the premiere of her latest film, Spring Breakers, where she plays a teen who becomes involved in the crime world to help fund her vacation. While some of the aspects of the dress alone may have been interesting - its asymmetrical sleeve, the open neckline - mashing them all together with a strange, sheer fabric over a V-shaped pencil skirt is a little too daring.

Lindsay Lohan Accused of Ruining Borrowed Designer Dress
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, Rumors,
Lindsay Lohan has been accused of destroying a $1,750 designer dress she was allowed to borrow.
The Liz & Dick star allegedly cut off the bottom end of the stunning nude-and-silver beaded fringe gown by Theia that she wore to the amfAR Gala in New York on February 6 - which was lent to her after her Scary Movie 5 co-star Charlie Sheen begged a top stylist to help her find a dress - because it ripped after the event.
A source revealed that when the 26-year-old actress returned the gown it was half its original length, and told USMagazine.com, "She said that the dress had ripped [at a club after the fundraiser] - she couldn't possibly wear it like that - so her stylist friend went to the club bouncer and requested some scissors to repair the torn part of the dress. But what bouncer has scissors? She turned it into a mullet! Only a fashiony person would do that! She's out of control and behaving really badly."
The dress was lent to Lindsay after her friend Charlie personally called celebrity stylist Phillip Bloch and asked him to dress Lindsay for the charity event and he told the fashion expert he would even split the bill 50/50 if necessary.

Naomi Campbell has never struggled with her weight.
The 42-year-old British supermodel - who mentors aspiring models on new show The Face - has never had to rely on diet or exercise to stay slim and she loves to eat good food.
"I don't really know about weight or age. Weight was never something that was part of my time and I worked everyday. I've never struggled with weight and I think food is pleasurable," she said.
But she admits she is "still blessed to be working" in such a competitive industry and thinks up and coming models need to be prepared to stand out to get noticed as they have a lot of competition from actresses when it comes to landing campaigns and magazine covers: "You're up against a lot of girls going for the same job, and they only want a selected few, so you really do have to have something outstanding to catch their eye. In general the world is more competitive these days and there is no real preparation, so it's definitely harder to book the cover of a magazine. It's definitely harder to book in advertising, because they don't just use models anymore."
Vivienne Westwood Picks on Duchess Catherine
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, News,
Duchess Catherine can't seem to please anyone in the fashion world.
First Matthew Williamson slammed the future queen - known at the time by her maiden name Kate Middleton - on her style, and now Vivienne Westwood is chastising the royal for not recycling her clothes.
"I don't have any advice for her, [although] I think it would be great if she wore the same clothes over and again, because that's very good for the environment and it would send out a very nice message. If you're going to all that trouble to get an outfit that suits you, then you should keep on wearing it. I mean you don't have to have a red outfit one day and then something almost the same in blue the next," the veteran designer said at London Fashion Week.
While it's humorous that Westwood - who herself puts out a new collection of clothes at least twice a year - called Duchess Catherine out for not recycling her clothes, Fashion Police correspondant Kelly Osbourne blasted her about re-wearing her clothes a couple years back!

Helena Christensen Isn’t Worried About Aging
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Health & Beauty, Models,
Helena Christensen doesn't see herself as a "great beauty."
The 44-year-old supermodel hates being complimented for aging well because she thinks it's more important to lead an interesting life:
"Why would I suddenly go, 'Oh, gosh, now I'm a year older. Now I'm 35, now I'm 37...' I didn't think about it when I was in my twenties and I'm not thinking about it now. For a start, you never see yourself as a great beauty. And you look at yourself every day, so it's not like you suddenly go, 'Oh my God, my beauty is fading!' and hide behind curtains for the rest of your life. I mean, my grandmother is 95 and she's super-beautiful and really interesting, and I talk to her every three days for about 45 minutes, and those are often the most interesting conversations I can have for weeks."

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Editorials, Fashion Designers,

Who Wore It Best? Katy Perry vs. Bingbing Li
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers,
Katy Perry's mint Gucci dress was hotly discussed, considering its emphasis on her chest last Sunday night. Fashion fans might have noticed that the floor-length gown - from the Italian fashion house's Resort 2013 collection - previously graced the red carpet on Chinese actress Bingbing Li back in November.
So let's compare and weigh in: is Katy's eye-popping effect a better way to wear the dress, or does Bingbing's more conservative styling win?

Grammy Awards 2013 Fashion Breakdown
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers,
The Grammy Awards red carpet was a little more conservative this year, thanks to the dress code placed by CBS; unfortunately, the restrictions seem to have negatively affected celebrity attendees' styles.
While there were many fashion mistakes at the music ceremony, Rihanna stood out among the rest in her gorgeous red Alaia number, straying from her usual provocative style to adhere to the TV network's fashion guidelines (though she raised eyebrows when she confirmed her reconciliation with Chris Brown).
Two Broke Girls star Kat Dennings opted for Vivienne Westwood (seen after the jump). Though the blue minidress accentuates the 26 year-old's curves, it resembles too much of printed bubblewrap.

Adam Levine to Launch His Own Fragrance
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Health & Beauty, News,
Musician-turned-reality star Adam Levine is going against what he previously condemned on Twitter: creating his own fragrance.
“I also would like to put an official ban on celebrity fragrances. Punishable by death from this point forward," he wrote on Twitter back in 2011. While he is unlikely to kill himself over his own ban, it would be nice if there were fewer celebrity fragrances!
The Maroon 5 frontman's eponymous fragrance line will include both men's and women's products with prices ranging between $35 and $65.
And what is the source of his inspiration? “I wanted to do something understated and elegant — something that people I revere in that world, like Tom Ford, would do, and something I’d be attracted to," Levine said.
(FYI - You can also follow Chic Dish on Twitter.)
