More Controversy Stirs Over Demi Moore W Cover

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Shows, Health & Beauty, Models, Rumors,

Just when the talk of Demi Moore’s questionable W cover died down, someone out in the internet makes a discovery that brings everything back into the spotlight.
This time, bloggers are pointing to Balmain’s runway model, Anja Rubik, stating that W photo editors swapped Demi’s torso entirely in favor of Rubik’s! Both women (supposedly) wore the Balmain swimsuit with a wrap; however, placing the W cover over the catwalk photo (above) says that perhaps only one of them truly donned the look.

Despite having given birth to her fourth child last month and claiming she was merely going to host the Victoria’s Secret fashion show, Heidi Klum could not resist the allure of the catwalk.
While she swapped the usual, revealing lingerie for a full bodice, it’s clear that whatever training or dieting the supermodel did worked wonders in returning her to the runway!
Can you even spot the supposed “extra” twenty pounds she claims to still have?

Gisele Bundchen Tops Valuable Model List

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Models, News,
Move over, Heidi Klum—Gisele Bundchen has been named the world’s most valuable model.
The Brazilian beauty, who is currently expecting her first child with husband Tom Brady, topped The Daily Beast’s annual list, which took into account multi-year contracts, advertising campaigns, runway appearances and magazine covers.
Gisele beat Kate Moss into second place, while others in the top 10 included new mother Adriana Lima, Christy Turlington and Miranda Kerr.
The website said of the list, “We considered four tenets to illustrate a model’s visibility and success - multi-year contracts, advertising campaigns, runway appearances, and magazine covers. Those with retail licensing deals, including Kate Moss and Gisele Bundchen, got credit for those estimated annual earnings, as well. Annual income from contracts, primarily negotiated by large cosmetic companies and Victoria’s Secret, were weighted 40 per cent because they are the most difficult to get, bear the largest salaries, and indicate a very high level of success.”
Check out the complete list after the jump.

Adriana Lima has given birth to a daughter.
The Victoria’s Secret model and basketball star Marko Jaric became parents for the first time on Sunday to baby Valentina, who was born in a New York hospital.
A spokesperson for the Brazilian beauty said:, “Adriana and Marko are thrilled to announce they had a baby girl, Valentina Lima Jaric. Mother, father and baby are all doing well.”
The couple have been flooded with messages of congratulations - and even offers for Adriana to return to work. Victoria’s Secret Chief Marketing Officer Ed Razek said: “All of us at Victoria’s Secret are thrilled to welcome Adriana’s own little angel. I jokingly asked her if she wanted to walk the runway in our annual fashion show this Thursday night and, for a minute, I thought she was going to take me up on it! We congratulate her, and wish them all health and well being.”
Adriana, 28, and Marko, 31 married on Valentine’s day this year after dating for three years.
Heidi Klum to Host, Not Walk

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Shows, Models, News,
Supermodel Heidi Klum will host this year’s Victoria’s Secret fashion show.
The model mum, who gave birth to fourth child Lou Sulola Samuel three weeks ago, has always modeled at the annual show, but decided that her body isn’t ready to hit the catwalk.
Organizers were so keen to keep the German beauty—who famously once wore a million-dollar bra at the show—involved she will now be hosting instead, with the Black Eyed Peas lined up to play a set. The show returns to New York for the first time since 2005 and will be filmed this month before airing on CBS in December.
Heidi had previously said she was worried she might not get back into shape fast enough and would be devastated if she couldn’t take part in the show. In August, she said, “The last time I gave birth, I had two months, and I don’t know if I have that much time this time. It was pushing it the last time. But if I don’t make it, I’m sure I’ll be very sad.”
The 36-year-old model already has sons Henry, four, and two-year-old Johan with husband Seal, and five-year-old daughter Leni from a previous relationship.
Amber Rose Represents Real Women

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Health & Beauty, Models, News, Rumors, Women,
Ever wonder what kind of conversation model Amber Rose had with Ford Models when they signed her? Well, now we don’t have to wonder so much—Rose dished some tidbits at the Elle Women in Hollywood Awards.
“I told them, Don’t ask me to grow out my hair or lose any weight. I want to represent real women who have curves.”
Right, because real women can pull off the shaved head look! So what about those tattoos?
Well, she revealed to blogger Elizabeth Snead that she promised Ford to not get any more ink done—until her contract is up, that is.
Oh Amber Rose—you’re so rebellious! No wonder Kanye West loves you so much. Much unlike Kanye, however, Rose has a sense of humor. When host Alec Baldwin jokingly alluded to her boyfriend’s infamous VMA incident, the runway model giggled a bit.
As if anyone can resist Mr. Baldwin’s charm…

Christian Lacroix Now Designs Jets

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Fashion Designers, News, Rumors, Sales,
From one runway to another, Christian Lacroix is set to design private jets.
The French designer, who filed for bankruptcy earlier this year, is in talks with Sheikh Hassan bin Ali al-Nuaimi—the nephew of United Arab Emirates ruler Ajman—about investing $70 million in the company. Al-Nuaimi wants to become the majority stakeholder and despite the current global economic downturn, the sheikh has bold plans for the brand. He is keen to transform the fashion label into a luxury lifestyle brand with a range of products including lavish palaces, planes and hotels.
Al-Nuaimi said, “The idea is not to focus on fashion by itself. We are discussing different activities in leisure… private jets, hotels, high-quality yachts, palaces, and interior decoration. We will focus on very exclusive areas and don’t want to sell his name cheap in the market.”
Lacroix, who counts Christina Aguilera among his celebrity fans, will need approval from a French court before the deal goes ahead. A decision is set to be made by the end of the month.
Pamela Anderson Leaves Clothes Behind For Runway

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, Fashion Shows, Women,

Swimsuit lover Pamela Anderson has been making quite the rounds in the fashion industry lately. First she appeared in Vivienne Westwood’s campaign and now she’s walking down runways… with barely any clothing.
Anderson took to Air New Zealand Fashion Week in nothing more than a hot pink g-string, heels, and a barely-there shawl, promoting a line she worked on with Heatherette fashion designer Richie Rich (who rollerskated next to her down the catwalk).

Pantless Trend Propagates Runways

Okay, seriously, Lady Gaga, what have you done?
Spring/Summer ‘10 collections saw the propagation of the anti-pants revolution, which you can clearly see in the image above (from left: Alexander Wang, Prada, Prada, and Duckie Brown).
I realize that it gets quite hot during Spring and Summer seasons; however, wearing what The Cut is now dubbing “diaper panties” is just plain wrong. I realize that we’re in a recession and that designers like these are most likely relying on less fabric, but come on!

From Derek Lam and Alexander Wang to Max Azria and Jason Wu (and many more!), a quick recap of New York Fashion Week is covered in this 5-minute clip, spliced with interview clips from designers and celebrity fans.
Designer Phillip Lim had quite a tongue-twisting way of describing his collection: “It is about the mystery woman. Us as voyeurs, us being curious as who this woman is and how she goes on about her life, from day to night, weekend to weekday. And it starts with the idea of deconstructing construction to reconstructed.”
And you should hear what Michael Kors had to say about a certain pet peeve…
