Chace Crawford hated being a model.
The Gossip Girl actor says he didn’t enjoy his time in the modeling world, but knows his good looks have helped him in his career.
“I did some catalogue work in Dallas, just to make some extra money. I hate modeling. But I’m not ignorant to the fact that part of the reason why Gossip Girl is poplar and part of the reason why people want to see it is to be like, ‘Oh, novelty boy! Hot boy! Pretty boy!’”
Chace is known for his pretty boy image but admits the constant grooming is hard work: “I have to be completely, impeccably, annoyingly clean shaven.”
The heartthrob also revealed acting was not always his passion. He told WWD, “I wasn’t, like, Johnny Theatre in high school. I was into sports. I was good at math. I was doing photography. I had my hand in a lot of different cliques.”

Roberto Cavalli Hones Photography Skills

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, Models, News, Rumors,
Roberto Cavalli has become a keen photographer.
The fashion designer - who counts Victoria Beckham, Alicia Keys and Cheryl Cole among his fans - recently returned from a trip to Africa and now wants to showcase his pictures.
“My dream in the near future is to create a big exhibition that would showcase my work from Africa and other exotic places. I love shooting primitive and simple things. I used to shoot subject for my prints and my passion has evolved a bit.”
Cavalli says he has been inspired to create a photography book after a world-famous snapper complimented his work. He told The Martha Stewart Show, “I actually showed my photos to a big photographer, whom I would like to keep private for now, and he was very impressed. He said, ‘They’re fantastic, you should really make more.’ From that moment I was very encouraged. But I’m not a photographer, per se, so I have quite a way to go with my technique!”
Georgia Jagger Wins Model of the Year Award

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, Models, News,
Rimmel’s latest fresh face, Georgia May Jagger, was named Model of the Year at the British Fashion Awards last week.
The 17-year-old beauty - daughter of Jerry Hall and Sir Mick Jagger - beat Daisy Lowe and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley to claim the prize.
Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham, Vivienne Westwood and Claudia Schiffer were among the big names who attended the event at London’s Royal Courts of Justice. Model-turned-designer Kate picked up the publically-voted London 25 award for best dressed Londoner. Designer of the Year went to Christopher Bailey for Burberry, while John Galliano picked up the Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design prize.
Victoria attended the event by herself, with her husband David staying with family after the funeral of his grandfather Joseph West earlier in the day. She wore a dress from her own collection, featuring the famous back zip that all of her clothes are famed for. Black seemed to be the color of choice on the red carpet, with stars including Myleene Klass, Twiggy, Erin O’Connor, Pixie Geldof and British Prime Minister’s wife Sarah Brown all opting for a dark creation.

VIDEO: Michael Bay Helms Victoria’s Secret Spot

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Models, Videos, Women,
I’ve just seen Megan Fox‘s future—and it involves far less than tank tops and shorts.
In this new spot for Victoria’s Secret, Transformers director Michael Bay asked a bevy of beauties to do far more “insane things” than he’s probably ever asked Fox to do. Play pool while kneeling on the table? (Ouch! Rug burns!) Walk through the desert while wearing black and heels? Stand in front of an explosion with very little protective clothing?
If Megan doesn’t start appreciating her boss soon, I’m sure there are plenty of other women who could easily do her job.

Items Du Jour: Taylor Swift, Martin Scorsese, and L’Oreal Hires Diane Kruger

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, Health & Beauty, Models, News, Rumors,
- L’Oreal hires model-turned-actress Diane Kruger as their worldwide spokesperson (not that it was a surprise so much as it was a matter of which makeup company was going to demand a deal with her).
- Kelly Osbourne’s fiancé Luke Worrell experiments with androgyny. He looks just as gorgeous as a woman, too! How unfair is that?
- Taylor Swift rocks some major Prada Swarovski in a high fashion shoot for T: The New York Times Style Magazine; it’s nice to see her break out of her natural style and put those model looks of hers to good use.
- Epic collaborations keep coming! While Dior may be nabbing David Lynch, Karl Lagerfeld is never one to be outdone, recruiting Martin Scorsese to direct a Chanel
short film. What we’re all really wondering is whether or not Leonardo DiCaprio will be making an appearance…
- Lady Gaga, much like her appearance on Jay Leno’s show, toned down her outfit for Barbara Walters. Citing her inspiration as her mother’s classic Chanel suit, Gaga left her body art installations, masks, and heavy makeup at home. Lately, the once pantsless revolution leader has been embracing what she seemed to detest—is this a new age for the singer?

Polish model Anja Rubik says yoga helps her to walk in high heels.
The 26-year-old beauty - who has taken to the catwalk for Stella McCartney, Viktor + Rolf and Jean Paul Gaultier in the past - credits the stretching exercise with helping her maintain balance.
“I’ve been practicing yoga for three years. My job involves a lot of sitting on airplanes and a lot of walking in high heels! I find yoga helps with both. It can also do amazing things physically; it keeps me fit and helps my balance and focus.”

Kimberley Walsh Calls Herself Wrinkly at 28

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Health & Beauty, Models, News,
Singer Kimberley Walsh thinks she looks too old to front a beauty campaign.
The 28-year-old Girls Aloud member - who is currently the face of British high street fashion chain New Look - claims she is already showing too many signs of ageing to be the perfect poster girl for anything that relied on her face.
“I’m always being told I should do a lipstick ad because of my huge mouth. But I think my skin might be too old for a beauty campaign. I’m 28 now. The wrinkles are starting to show!”
The singer also admitted she struggles to maintain a healthy diet regime, despite putting on weight more easily than her bandmates:
“I’m like any other normal girl, I have ups and downs; I can focus and be healthy for a few weeks and then I’ll have a bad week. If I ate what the rest of the girls ate I’d be three times the size, but at the same time, I’m not vain enough to starve myself. I’d much rather be content in my life and a normal size. I’m a 10 on top and a 12 below. I think it’s quite good for young girls that in the band we’ve all got different figures.”
Kate Moss Covets Jewelry, Gets Sir Philip Green to Pay

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, Models, News, Rumors, Women, Jewelry,
Kate Moss was so taken with a fellow guest’s bracelet at a recent wedding she bought it off her straightaway.
The supermodel became smitten with jewelery designer Ann Dexter-Jones’ accessory during a mutual friend’s nuptials and insisted she wanted it immediately. So Kate’s friend and boss - billionaire retailer and head of Topshop Sir Philip Green - offered Ann a large sum of money for the bracelet.
“She was so crazy to wear it so Sir Philip Green insisted Kate have it immediately and bought it for her right off my wrist.”
But Ann - who designed the black onyx, black diamond, solid gold and silver bauble, as part of her new jewelery line - wasn’t too upset because as well as the money, Kate also gave her another bracelet to wear. She told the New York Post, “And Kate gave me her Chanel bracelet as a gift, so that my wrist wasn’t bare.”
Ann’s line, Ann Dexter-Jones, debuts this week.
Items Du Jour: Meiselpic, David Lynch, Marc and Lorenzo Buy a House

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, Health & Beauty, Models, News, Rumors, Site Announcements,
- Marc Jacobs and Lorenzo Martone finally purchased a townhouse in New York’s West Village for a cool $10.4 million. To think that this was the house that the couple claimed they counting their pennies for!
- A new type of plastic surgery involves liposuctioning fat from your butt and injecting it into your breasts to increase their size. Here I thought Fight Club‘s idea of re-using fat for soap was bad.
- Twitter inspires fashion photographer Steven Meisel, prompting him to get a pregnant Gisele Bundchen (as well as Lara Stone, Sessilee Lopez, Naomi Campbell, and others) taking pictures of herself via Meiselpic—clever, right?—for the December cover of Vogue Italia.
- In interesting collaboration news, John Galliano recruits David Lynch (Mulholland Drive, Eraserhead) to direct his next installment of Dior short films. Oscar-winning actress Marion Cotillard will star in the short features.
- Proenza Schouler finally has an e-commerce site, although it appears as if they’re still figuring out what to put on there—so far, there are four items listed.

Amber Le Bon Invests in Photography

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Health & Beauty, Models, News,
Amber Le Bon wants to become a fashion photographer.
The model - the daughter of supermodel Yasmin and Duran Duran singer Simon Le Bon - understands she won’t be able to make money from her looks forever and will embark on a career behind the camera when she grows older.
“I know modeling is not a lifelong career, and because I so love taking pictures of people I think my future is going to be as a photographer.”
The 20-year-old beauty - who has previously modeled for Moschino and British store River Island - hasn’t started working on her camera skills yet but is certain she has already picked up some vital tips through her work in the fashion industry: “I am learning a lot about the work on the other side of the camera. I am constantly getting practical experience, although I haven’t studied it technically.”
Earlier this year, it was revealed Amber’s British Iranian model mother Yasmin would launch her own fashion line. The 45-year-old beauty will be teaming with British store Wallis to launch her first clothing and jewelery collection YLB.
