Patrick MohrThe fashion industry may have come across bizarre looks (Valentino’s birdcage dress) and out-of-this world makeup (turning models into aliens for ‘s Spring/Summer 2010 collection) lately, but nothing takes the cake like the presentation of Patrick Mohr’s Spring/Summer 2011 collection.

Bald, pale, and bearded, models were transformed into hideous men as they strutted their stuff down the runway at Berlin Fashion Week for Mohr. While models are known to resemble boyish statures (thin frame, flat chest), Mohr has gone so far as to take the idea one step further with his show’s makeup!

As for the clothes, the models looked frumpy in boxer shorts and pieces resembling monk apparel; also the plain red, black, and beige palette (sprinkled with a few prints) was quite dull for a Spring/Summer collection.

This is not the first time that the German fashion designer attempted to shock his audience. Last year, his show—titled The Road To Hell Is Paved With Good Intentions—featured homeless people alongside his professional models to present his collection, while his previous show, Are We Shaved?, starred extremely tan bodybuilders and thong-wearing transvestites sporting obvious breast implants.

Miu Miu Fall/Winter 2010

Birds, flowers, and cats are out—tartan and plaid are in! The Miu Miu Fall/Winter 2010 campaign is out and it’s absolutely gorgeous and mod-tastic. Shot in London by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot, the photos feature models Lindsey Wixson, Ginta Lapina, Siri Tollerod and Daphne Groenweld. It’s nice to see that Ms. Prada is embracing color (especially that mustard yellow!) for the Fall.

What I would kill for the lavender, floral frock!

Dita Von Teese and Jean Paul GaultierDita Von Teese was the surprise guest at ‘s couture show yesterday.

The burlesque dancer - famed for her bright red lips and alabaster complexion - took to the catwalk in a racy ribbed number, cinching in her tiny waist and leaving little to the imagination. The show was an unashamed tribute to glamour, with models holding cigarettes in cigarette holders and donning turbans while wearing beautiful creations in a myriad of dark shades, although black was the dominating force in the collection.

Actress Catherine Deneuve watched from the front row as reams of fur-trimmed opulent pieces created by Gaultier made their way down the runway - with sex clearly being on the Frenchman’s mind, with plenty of underwear on show leading to the finale by Von Teese.

also put on a chic display of mini-dresses in his couture collection, with bow detailing and short hemlines making the otherwise safe collection have a feeling of opulence and glamour.

Anna Wintour and Kate Moss

“Believe it or not, [] is shy. I go to events with her and I am, like, what’s the matter with you?’ and she is, like, shaking, nervous. I’m, like: ‘You’re a freak, because I am not shy at all.’ Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of American Vogue, is, you imagine, the most secure person, but she is shy, too. Often people mistake her shyness for coldness.”

Chanel Couture 2010Chanel creative director took his inspiration from Russia for the Chanel Couture show in Paris yesterday.

Models walked down a specially created runway at the Grand Palais in the French capital - walking out of a lion holding a giant pearl - in shades of maroon, brown, white and pink.

Although not a huge departure from what is known for - classical, flattering cuts in various tweeds - it was a solid collection, with fur-trimmed collars and cuffs teamed with mid-calf boots and seeming inspiration taken from Faberge eggs. Waistlines were kept high and shoulders boxy, with arms billowing, and as the show progressed, sequins and ornate detailing came in abundance.

The final model to walk down the runway was Karl Lagerfeld’s male model of the moment Baptiste Giabiconi, who donned a lion’s head mask while wearing the style of suit favored by the German-born designer - a black trouser and blazer combination worn with a high-necked white shirt.

Others to put on shows yesterday include Givenchy, who provided a decadent and glamorous collection and Giorgio Armani Prive, who worked a serious and sexy business-like chic.

Orlando BloomLooks like isn’t the only supermodel in her relationship: Orlando Bloom is the newest celebrity face for Hugo Boss.

The actor will front the campaign for the company’s latest men’s fragrance Orange and Orlando is excited about his new role: “Boss Orange is a brand I immediately identified with because it has a laid-back, spontaneous quality I relate to.”

Sienna Miller is the face of the women’s version of the scent, which was launched last year and has become a huge success.

This is not Orlando’s first foray into modeling. In 2007, he appeared on late-night Japanese TV to promote the Uno brand of cosmetics maker Shiseido, with a two-minute Sci-Fi themed commercial to start the product’s marketing campaign.

Magdalena Frackowiak

“At some point, I told myself: the dress doesn’t own you, you own the dress! So act like it and attack.”
