Georgia Jagger is Yet Again the Face of Hudson Jeans

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Fashion Designers, Models, News, Jeans,
Georgia Jagger will front her third campaign for Hudson Jeans.
The 18-year-old model will appear in the Fall/Winter 2010 adverts for the company, which will see her wearing the denim pieces and little else.
“She is a true embodiment of the spirit of the Hudson brand. She doesn’t try, she’s just cool. She has that certain Je ne sais quoi. Her genetic DNA and our brand DNA are one in the same. Her mother Jerry Hall is American and her father is Mick Jagger and Hudson is born in California but rooted in London. She is also the ultimate Hudson girl - the personification of rock and roll meets glamour who embodies California freedom and British cool. She is effortlessly stylish, isn’t afraid to take risks, or to be herself while creating her own destiny,” said Ben Taverniti, creative director at Hudson Jeans.
The black-and-white shots for the campaign were taken by legendary fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti at Aldor Manor, an Italian Renaissance style house in New York. The new images showcase Hudson’s key styles for the season, and feature designs from its Classic, Custom, Capsule and Collection lines.
Quote of the Day: One Fabric the Military Keeps From Daphne Guinness

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Models, News,

“I like to experiment with different fabrics and see what happens. There’s one fabric I’ve been looking for for five years. It’s like an LCD screen, but it’s supple. You’d be able to play the movie Sunset Boulevard on your T-shirt. The military has the first option on it. I keep asking them, ‘Can’t you just give me a little bit?’”
- Heiress, fashion muse, and couture collector Daphne Guinness on the one thing she cannot have… yet!

Items Du Jour: Lady Gaga to Star in Film, Rachel Zoe Dies, Wang Hires Kravitz

Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Editorials, Fashion Designers, Models, News, Rumors,
—Despite the behind-the-scenes drama supermodels Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell made about sharing an i-D cover with Lady Gaga, the magazine ended up with all three divas on separate covers.
—Lady Gaga is reportedly set to star in her own autobiographical film, directed by Bryan Singer. Don’t act like you didn’t see that one coming.
—Steven Meisel looked to the Gulf oil spill for inspiration: his Italian Vogue editorial stars Kristen McMenamy, styled by Karl Templer. The fashion industry doesn’t always have to be vacuous…
—Once again, it pays to be a celebrity’s kid: Zoe Kravitz nabbed a gig modeling for Alexander Wang’s T line. Co-starring Max Motta, the ads are expected to hit New York streets as early as this Thursday.
—Harper’s Bazaar makes Rachel Zoe as a fashion victim—literally. The celebrity stylist and reality star strikes several different poses in scenes where designers Marc Jacobs, Vera Wang, and Michael Kors appear to murder her!
Now renowned for her gorgeous red locks, Lily Cole was bullied for being ginger.
The beautiful supermodel has admitted she was cruelly taunted when she was at school for having red hair, and although it was initially hard to deal with, she soon grew to love being different.
“When I was younger I definitely did face anti-ginger prejudice. As a child all teasing hurts, whether it’s because you’re fat or a different race or have red hair. I had enough comments from a couple of people to make it a sore point. I sympathize with children who are going through it but when they get older and are away from stupid children making comments, most people grow to love their red hair,” the model-turned-actress - whose unusual coloring made her a millionaire and the face of cosmetic giants Rimmel - said.
She also denied the fashion industry has a problem with drugs and eating disorders - claiming it is found everywhere: “No, those problems exist everywhere. I’ve seen them at school and in other working environments. Going down those roads is a personal choice and one I haven’t made so I haven’t been exposed to it.”
Crystal Renn Blasts Airbrushing

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Editorials, Health & Beauty, Models, News,

Plus-size supermodel Crystal Renn was horrified after bosses airbrushed 30lbs off her frame for a campaign poster.
Crystal, who is a size 10, says the pictures for the Fashion for Passion advertisements no longer look like her because her appearance has been altered so much.
“They brushed about 30lbs off my body. I sat there in silence for so long when I saw the pictures. I couldn’t believe what they’d done. It didn’t look like me. Don’t cut inches off my thighs. Don’t make me a size two when I’m a 10. It’s totally misleading. Fashion should be about a beautiful girl in beautiful clothes, not this size obsession. It’s dangerous. But if I have a zit or cellulite, take it off!”

Megan Fox Replaces Lara Stone in Armani Campaign

Actress-turned-model Megan Fox is the new face of Giorgio Armani Cosmetics.
The stunning actress - who has previously advertised for Emporio Armani underwear and Armani Jeans - will appear in the advertising campaign for the brand later this year, replacing model Lara Stone.
Naturally, Fox was thrilled to be asked: “Mr. Armani is an iconic visionary for all things fashion. I’m honored to be associated with him and part of this campaign.”
The 24-year-old beauty was chosen by the designer because of her striking good looks and engaging personality. “Megan embodies the spirit of the women of today: free, confident and seductive. Her beautiful features reveal femininity, sensuality and strength,” a spokesperson said.
The beauty campaign was photographed by Craig McDean, with make-up by Linda Cantello.
Selita Ebanks Suffers For Fashion

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Editorials, Health & Beauty, Models, News,
Victoria’s Secret model Selita Ebanks dislocated her shoulder to get a good picture.
The 27-year-old supermodel confesses her joint came out of its socket when she climbed a tree and slipped on a shoot for high street fashion chain H&M, but she got straight back to work because she liked the pictures.
“I’m standing there and it’s a majestic moment: the sun is setting, the wind is blowing, I’m wearing this beautiful caftan and it’s blowing. Because I’m so into the moment I don’t know what I’m doing-and thank god my arm was wrapped around a branch-because I slipped and I can feel my shoulder displace from the rest of my body and I was hanging there, and everyone screamed. I managed to pull myself back up and I kept shooting. Just popped it right back in said let’s get back to work! You have to be tough. I still had about six more looks to shoot. I got back in the tree even though everyone protested, because I saw the pictures and they were just amazing.”
It is not the only time the Cayman Island-born beauty has hurt herself for style - she once cut her arm while strolling up the catwalk for Victoria’s Secret in 2008. However, it has not put her off modeling: “I would almost do anything for fashion. Almost.”
