Fashion week regular was among the celebrities in attendance at the Burberry Prorsum fashion show in London yesterday.

The Sex and the City actress donned a military style jacket and a brown skirt for proceedings at the Chelsea College of Art and Design, with TV presenters Cat Deeley and wearing similar ensembles.

The collection, designed by Burberry stalwart Christopher Bailey, was a sexy combination of animal prints and leather, with studded biker jackets making an appearance on many of the models. Bright, acid yellows and blues also dotted the catwalk - sometimes in the form of belts and bags and others in dresses - adding to the usual khakis and black so associated with Burberry.

While French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld made it clear that the magazine's 90th anniversary issue was going to be big, I didn't realize that they meant zooming in on model 's large chest for the cover! "Vogue Paris has always played the card of audacity. We couldn't do a lukewarm issue," Roitfeld said. Again, I never expected to disappoint; however, I don't necessarily agree with bringing the supposedly-classy fashion pages down to Playboy status. Is the October issue of the fashion glossy too much or just the right amount of shocking?

Olivia Palermo and Johannes HeublFrom a supporting friend

actress on The City, Olivia Palermo is moving her career up to modeling status as the new face of Mango. The 24-year-old beauty will star alongside model boyfriend Johannes Heubl in the campaign, which she admits was initially embarrassing to shoot.

“At first, it was really embarrassing - but then I remembered it was just him and I could be normal - so then it was really fun.”

However, she is unsure if the Spanish brand - which is also fronted by Scarlett Johansson and Poppy Delevigne - will show the shoot internationally. “I don’t know about that but I’m really pleased to have done it.”

It is not yet clear if she will design her own range of clothes for the store as former models and Milla Jovovich have done. Earlier this month, Olivia confessed she has a whole host of ambitions in the fashion industry: “I want to act, model, try it all. Designing a collection will come in time.”

“I play around with different styles. I don’t think I can wear the clothes I wore when I was 20, now that I’m 24,” she explained.


Agyness Deyn walks for Giles DeaconGiles Deacon marked his return to London Fashion Week yesterday by showcasing a feminine, floral collection.

The British designer - who until this year has debuted his pieces at - juxtaposed curve-enhancing floral dresses with outlandish sci-fi stage make-up on his all-star cast of models. As well as iconic British models Agyness Dean and Amber Le Bon, Deacon shunned the size zero trend by sending curvier stars Kelly Brook and a pregnant Abbey Clancy down the runway.

However, Amber Le Bon didn’t only lend her talents to one designer yesterday, as she also modelled for Canadian designer , who trained at London’s prestigious Central Saint Martins college, who gave his signature knitted dresses a colourful twist.

Elsewhere, channeled the Spring/Summer 2011 trend of bright colors in his collection, with his “aristocrat gone bad” theme pushing fashion boundaries with neon vinyl, orange and fuchsia lace and graphic prints: “There’s been so much white and minimalism, I just reacted against that. I don’t want that. I don’t see that as being modern. To me, I think it’s old and used.”

We’ve seen some bizarre runway looks over the past year. Now wigmaker and Lady Gaga favorite Charlie Le Mindu is sending his own fashion shock waves by sending his models down the catwalk in their birthday suits for his Spring/Summer 2011 line.

While nudity is nothing new to the fashion industry (heck, many times, it’s embraced!), there are usually clothes involved—sheer, in most cases. This Frenchman, however, clearly wanted to highlight the hat, purse, and platform boots the nude models wore.

Vivienne Westwood Spring/Summer 2011Always innovative, has advised fashion followers not to buy any new clothes for six months.

The iconic British designer, who showcased her Red Label collection at London Fashion Week last night, made the unusual move of asking her fans to avoid buying anything new for half a year, suggesting quality, rather than quantity, is more important when it comes to clothing.

“My message is choose well and buy less. Don’t buy anything new for six months and recycle your clothes.”

The 69-year-old fashion guru - who is known for her environmental advocacy - received rave reviews for the collection, which was showcased at London’s New Connaught Rooms venue. Models - including - were sent down the runway splattered with blue face paint, wearing pieces from the new structured collection, including tailored jackets, pencil skirts and jersey dresses.

The show was one of the most star-studded of so far, with a whole host of British stars turning out to the event. Lady Victoria Hervey, Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts, rugby ace Danny Cipriani and artist Tracey Emin were just some of the famous faces in the crowd, while Pamela Anderson - who revealed she is a big fan of the designer - was also spotted in the front row. “Vivienne really knows how to work it,” Pamela said.

Victoria shows her twice yearly collections during New York Fashion Week but the brand is designed and made in London. Since its launch the mother-of-three’s collections - which focuses on simple dramatic - have become a huge hit and her creations have been seen on stars from Jennifer Lopez to Elle Macpherson.

Phoebe Philo, who has transformed French fashion house Celine into one of the industry’s most sought-after labels, has been shortlisted for the Designer of the Year, alongside Erdem and while Lara Stone is nominated for Model of the Year. Harold Tillman, Chairman of the BFC commented that the diverse nominees reflected the “incredible vision and breadth of talent that British designers offer.”

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on December 7.
