Karen Elson has an "anxiety attack" every time she does a catwalk show.
The model-and-singer admits she gets terrified whenever she has to walk down a runway so she doesn't really do fashion shows any more.
"Walking down a catwalk is terrifying. I am so useless, I have an anxiety attack every time I do it. I don't really do shows any more for that reason. Walking down a runway, with the lights, the music and all the faces looking at mend the terrifying high heels that are often, for me at least, way too big and falling off. I have these sudden panic attacks that I'm going to trip up. I almost will myself to fall. I really don't do a lot of shows. It would be fun to do them, but I'm terrified, absolutely terrified."
Karen also revealed when she's performing on stage, she likes her outfits to be as dramatic as possible: "I make it dramatic. I try and create a look, like, on my last record I had a lot of fringe. Fringy, fringy stuff. The band and I had a little look going. I think visually it's always good to have some kind of look going on. It makes the performance interesting."

Hedi Slimane to Debut First YSL Collection to Buyers Only
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Fashion Designers, Fashion Shows,
Hedi Slimane will debut his first Yves Saint Laurent collection to buyers only.
The French designer - who was named as the French fashion house's new creative director in March, replacing Stefano Pilati - has invited buyers to see his spring menswear and women's cruise collections in late June/early July. However, the public will have to wait until September for the launch of his womenswear Spring/Summer 2013 range at a catwalk show during Paris Fashion Week.
Paul Deneve, chief executive officers of Yves Saint Laurent, recently said Hedi's appointment is the start of a "promising new chapter" in the history of the company, but Pierre Berge, a former partner of YSL, has warned the designer has his work cut out at the fashion house. "It's a great problem, very complicated, to recreate the work of a genius. Like trying to rewrite Faulkner. To put your stamp on the name of Yves Saint Laurent requires someone who has talent, conviction, rigor, a demanding nature and a great sense of colour," he explained.

Chloe Sevigny hates going to fashion shows.
The Gummo actress doesn't like to attend high fashion events because she is not comfortable being around people she deems to be "popular kids."
"I don't enjoy going to fashion shows. It's very high school, it's very 'the most popular kids in the front row,' and everybody's checking everybody else out, and you have to do all this press and get your picture taken. It's not fun for me - it's work."
Stylish Chloe claims she goes to shows in order to support her friends, or if she is "getting paid." Ironically Chloe, 37, initially made her name through her unique sense of style. "My style helps me make a lot of money, so it's kind of important. It's kind of a hobby. I like getting dressed, I like putting myself together. I admire people who put a little effort into their style. But as far as my face in the industry, it has been pretty lucrative for me. I think that those companies are interested in me because I don't work with a stylist - it's me, myself, it's my personal style. They can sense that," she added.
Versace to Return to Couture Catwalk

Versace is returning to the couture catwalk.
The Italian fashion house will stage two shows at Paris' Ritz Hotel in July and the venue choice has always held a special place in Donatella Versace's heart. The hotel was the site of her brother Gianni's last runway show in 1997 before his death, as well as many other Atelier Versace shows until the line was suspended in 2004. The hotel will close on July 31 for extensive renovation following the show on July 1, and Donatella is pleased she can show there before it shuts.
"It is with tremendous emotion that I return to the Ritz where I shared so many special moments with my brother. The closing of the Ritz Paris for two years represents the end of an era but also the beginning of a new one, so to be able to show Atelier Versace there one last time will be a memorable milestone," she told WWD.
The label returned to the schedule last season to show its Spring/Summer 2012 collection via a presentation.
Miranda Kerr tries to have "fun" when she is on the runway.
The Australian beauty - best known as a model for underwear brand Victoria's Secret - admits she does get nervous when she has to parade her body in front of people, but makes an effort to enjoy herself.
"For me personally I try not to think about it too much and just try to have fun with it and have a good time. I love runway, especially Victoria's Secret runways, they're really fun, we get to express our personality and have fun up there on stage. I also like studio shoots too, they're really fun. It's like working with family."
Miranda, who is married to British hunk Orlando Bloom, particularly loves the brand's new "sexy collection" and their multi-way bra: "The new very sexy collection is great for summer. It's so versatile. There's beautiful colors. My favorite piece in the collection is the very sexy multi-way bra. You can wear it cross back, halter back, low-back. It's just a really good bra to have in your wardrobe."
SNL’s Stefon to Appear at the CFDA Awards?
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, Fashion Shows, News,
Calling all organizers of the CFDA Fashion Awards! Saturday Night Live's Bill Hader has given the greenlight to attend the ceremony as his Ed Hardy-loving Weekend Update City Correspondent character, Stefon.
When asked about whether or not he would be up for bringing Stefon to a real-life event like the CFDA Awards, he said yes! "I would like that. That would be fun. We did something for an autism benefit at the Plaza Hotel, so we've done it outside the show before, and it was a lot of fun. So yeah, I would totally do that [if asked]."
Considering that SNL's head writer and cast member Seth Meyers is hosting this year's CFDA event, the idea may not be as far-fetched as one would think...
The CFDA Fashion Awards will take place on Monday, June 4th at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall.
Alessandra Ambrosio Plans Quick Work Return

Alessandra Ambrosio plans to return to work quickly after giving birth.
The Victoria's Secret model announced in December she and fiance Jamie Mazur are expecting their second child together and the 30-year-old beauty has pledged to return to her duties for the lingerie firm by July.
"I already have jobs planned for afterwards so hopefully will be back in shape! I told my booker and my manager, 'I know I have a job to do, so just book the jobs and hopefully it'll be fine.' I only have a few more jobs to do before I have the baby - all editorial, no more catwalk now - and then I hope to be back in London for the opening of the Victoria's Secret store in July. I should definitely be back for the next Victoria's Secret show - I have quite a while until then."
Alessandra - who already has three-year-old daughter Anja with Jamie - insists her pregnancy hasn't affected her work because she is feeling so good: "It's the same thing, the belly button sticks out a bit more, but it's the same job! I feel the same."

Sarah Burton's fantasy inspired collection for Alexander McQueen drew rave reviews at Paris Fashion Week last Wednesday.
The Futumn/Winter 2012 collection was said to have been inspired by "the rippling underbellies of mushrooms" and the stunning collection of layered gowns and coats featured a colour palette of pinks, greyish purple, soft reds, silvery grey and black.
"It was exhilarating... With talent like Sarah's you just sit back and relish the sense of fantasy. No one else has it," said Hal Rubenstein, InStyle magazine fashion director.

Nicole Farhi: Celebrities Get Paid to be on Catwalk Front Rows
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, Fashion Shows, Rumors,
Nicole Farhi claims celebrities are being paid tens of thousands of dollars to appear on the front row at catwalk runway shows. The designer has called the alleged system "unprofessional" and "stupid" because it results in more interest being paid to the stars attending such events rather than the clothes on display.
"It is so unprofessional. I have never paid a celebrity and I will never do it. It's stupid. What do they show you in the papers after a fashion show? Not the clothes, but the celebrities who are being paid to sit at the show."
Following her comments, the 65-year-old French-born designer is expecting to be snubbed by fellow designers, but she doesn't "give a s**t" because she feels so strongly about the issue: "They will all hate me for it. I don't give a s**t because I think it is abominable."

Victoria Beckham Overwhelmed at Dress Success
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Fashion Designers, Fashion Shows,
Victoria Beckham has been overwhelmed by the response to her new range of dresses.
The singer-turned-designer showcased her second collection for her Victoria, Victoria Beckham, line yesterday at New York Fashion Week and admits she is stunned at how popular the items have become.
The response has been quite breathtaking. I want to give my customer and the retailer what they want. It's still girly, it's still fun and it's still fresh and you can see the personality," said Victoria, who also has her high-end collection of dresses.
Last season's debut collection of the more affordable line has been seen on the likes of Julianne Moore and Michelle Williams and sold strongly at Harvey Nichols, Harrods and Net-a-Porter.
Her second offering featured clean lines, shifts shapes, pointed collars, cuffed sleeves and fun prints. "It's what I like to wear, it's the other side to my wardrobe," she said.
