Victoria Beckham is Here to Stay

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, News, Rumors,

Make no mistake, Victoria Beckham plans to be a fashion designer for the next 30 years.
The former Spice Girl has her own range of dresses, jeans and eyewear for her label dVb and while she is a relative newcomer to the fashion world, she has no intentions to leave it.
“I plan on still being here in 25 to 30 years’ time. At the start it was tough because people had preconceptions, but I worked incredibly hard and kept my head down. I have always had to work very, very hard with everything I do. That is just my work ethic.”

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, News, Sales,
Actress-turned-designer Lindsay Lohan isn’t just making accessories anymore. The House of Emanuel Ungaro creative advisor star is planning to include other items of clothing in her 6126 collection, including jackets, dresses, and trousers in lace, cashmere and leather.
The line is expected to feature 100 pieces, ranging in price, with the most expensive item expected to be a leather jacket. Plans are already underway for further expansion in 2011, with a clothing collection of 150 items and a range of bags, jewelery, shoes and cosmetics under the 6126 brand.
Kristi Kaylor, principal in 6126 LLC in Beverly Hills, told WWD, “We’ve had amazing success with the leggings line. We have a great business with Neiman Marcus and several hundred great specialty stores. DNAM Apparel was the perfect partner to work with 6126 and grow it as a lifestyle brand. We’re launching the full clothing collection next year, and a cosmetics line, handbags, shoes, jewellery in spring 2011. It’ll be a young contemporary price point with contemporary styling. We’re conscious of it in the sense that we have great price points and quality products. The vision is to offer customers something that they don’t have in the marketplace today, items that go back with leggings: blazers, dresses and tops.”

Even though we can’t see much of Jamie’s face, I still gather that people will want to covet the gorgeous dresses thanks to these beautiful ads.

Mounir Moufarrige Quits Ungaro

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, Fashion Shows, News, Rumors,
Mounir Moufarrige has quit his job at the House of Emanuel Ungaro.
The Lebanese-born businessman - who had been the chief executive officer of the fashion label since 2006 - has left the company so he can focus on his other business interests.
Moufarrige has come under huge pressure recently after bringing Mean Girls actress Lindsay Lohan in as artistic director of the brand. The 23-year-old star’s debut line for the French fashion house was a critical flop when it was launched earlier this year.
While his focus will be on his other work, Moufarrige will apparently still remain a member of the company’s strategic committee and will oversee certain project and decisions. Marie Fournier has been named as Ungaro’s new general manager and will keep an eye on the running of the business.
Last month, Moufarrige defended his decision to ask Lindsay to get on board the company. He said, “We’ve got a celebrity and it’s a new concept, which we’re going ahead with. Ungaro, let’s recognize it, was a dormant brand, and now everybody’s talking about it today, so the level of awareness has improved greatly.”
Dolce and Gabbana Say Working on Nine Was a Dream

Dolce and Gabbana admit starring in Nine was a “dream come true.”
Prestigious fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana - who make a brief appearance in the romantic musical movie - were desperate to work on the project inspired by Italian firm director Federico Fellini because he is a movie “maestro.”
“We wanted so much to be part of this project! Federico Fellini has always been one of our greatest sources of inspiration, one of the most important Italian directors. For us, being part of a movie inspired by the work of the maestro is like a dream come true.”
Despite only appearing on-screen for a short while, the designing duo were thrilled to work on the celebrity-filled film, which stars Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz, Judi Dench, Fergie, Kate Hudson, Nicole Kidman, Sophia Loren and Daniel Day-Lewis.
They added to People, “Rob Marshall did an amazing work and the cast is amazing! He was able to put together the most beautiful and talented actresses of various generations and great actors. We couldn’t be more happy to be chosen, even if for a short appearance.”

Sienna Miller a Fan of Plus-Size Models

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, Health & Beauty, Models, News,
Twenty8Twelve designer Sienna Miller thinks that overweight girls are “more beautiful” than skinny models.
The British actress - who worked as a model before she made it in the movie business - prefers the body shape of curvy plus-sized models to women with stick-thin frames.
“I sincerely believe that that’s more beautiful than someone who is poker-thin. I really do.”
The blonde beauty - who is known for her good looks and slender figure - even wishes she had a more curvaceous, womanly figure herself. She explained to New York Magazine, “I would love to have boobs to go with my hips, but I don’t. That’s just not the way the cookie crumbled.”
Despite being regularly regarded as one of the world’s most beautiful women, the 27-year-old star admits she never felt attractive when she worked as a model: “I was, like, the short, funny one that they booked to make the other girls laugh and to make them look taller.”
