David BeckhamDavid Beckham is taking a design cue from his wife Victoria -- sort of. Beckham is set to launch a line of... long johns!

The soccer heartthrob - who signed a deal to create his own collection of underwear earlier this year after starring in an advertising campaign for Emporio Armani men's briefs - wants to give the old fashioned items a makeover when he launches the range in February 2012.

"I sometimes wear them to go to sleep. They're very cool."

David - who is currently playing for Los Angeles Galaxy - is reportedly being backed in his plans by his manager Simon Fuller and fashion designer Stella McCartney's husband Alasdhair Willis.

He also wants Victoria to be heavily involved in the project: "The underwear is totally my design, things that I like to wear."

Tina and Beyonce Knowles at LFW for House of DereonBeyonce Knowles made sure to compliment every one of the models during her House of Dereon show during London Fashion Week.

The singer-and-actress - who is expecting her first child with husband Jay-Z - and her mother Tina unveiled their collection at exclusive store Selfridges on Saturday, and the models admit she was a pleasure to work for.

"The show was all about power and attitude and having fun which made me really excited as many shows only want models to display the clothes. When Beyonce came in, she complimented all of us. I told her how beautiful her collection was and how I really loved the feather accessory from my first look. Then I bent forward and tickled the feather on her face - haha! She was lovely and was glowing, an image of pregnant perfection," said Leomie Anderson.

Malaika Firth added, "Walking for Beyonce's House of Deron was possibly the best experience of my life yet alone my career. I never knew that I'd get the chance to work with her and I was so excited when she came backstage to talk to all of us!"

D&G Spring/Summer 2012Dolce & Gabbana is folding its D&G line. The Italian fashion house - made of designer duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana - have decided to end the brand to concentrate on their signature Dolce & Gabbana line.

In a statement, they said the move would give "even more strength and energy to our collections." It means yesterday's D&G show at Milan Fashion Week was the last for the range, and the company will be incorporating the D&G line into its signature line.

D&G is a slightly more casual line and is the younger, more flamboyant line of the brand. Unlike Dolce & Gabbana, D&G sells watches as well as clothing. While they are getting rid of the D&G line, Domenico and Stefano recently revealed they are embracing technology and selling their collections on the internet as they want to give everyone the chance to buy their designs.

"It's a retail channel we are very interested in, because it gives everybody the chance to experiment with the Dolce & Gabbana world. You don't have to live in a big city - you just have to own a computer," Domenico said. "Luxury is not a static concept, but it shapes and changes with society. Now somebody who might not have the time to come to one of our boutiques can shop online," Stefano added.

Katie Holmes

From the looks of a recent outing with her daughter Suri, Katie Holmes has been perusing the men's sections of clothing stores lately.

Even though floral prints aren't usually found in the actress-turned-fashion designer's wardrobe, this masculine attire isn't exactly pulling off the androgynous look like Tilda Swinton can. The jeans are okay, but the somewhat see-through shoes and clashing stripes and squares aren't doing it for me.

Is Katie simply chic or simply faux pas?

John GallianoFormer Dior creative director John Galliano has been found guilty of racist and anti-Semitic behavior.

The British designer - who was facing charges of "casting public insults based on origin, religious affiliation, race or ethnicity" by French authorities - was ordered by a Paris court yesterday to pay a total fine of 17,500 euros, but escaped prison. The maximum penalty in France for insulting someone on the basis of their origin, religious affiliation, race or ethnicity is six months in jail and a fine of 22,500 euros.

Galliano - who was not in court - was arrested in February of this year following an alteration with a couple outside a Paris cafe, in which he used racist and anti-Semitic language. A video was then released of him in a Paris bar last October, verbally abusing a woman and proclaiming his love for Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter 2011For his Fall/Winter 2011 collection, Marc Jacobs wanted "severity and fetish."

The line look focuses on sexiness, and the designer says he was keen to take his new line to the limit: "I wanted severity and fetish. It was about rules and dress codes which are taken to different places and made a bit caricature."

However, fellow his fellow designer Phoebe Philo wanted her collection to be a little more reserved. "I like the idea of women not showing too much, of being quite reserved in a way, and quite covered," The Celine sartorialist said.

As well as his "fetish" collection, Marc recently revealed he is to create a plus-sized clothing line. The designer will become the first top fashion label to create clothes for women above a US Size 12, as he feels females with bigger body shapes should be able to have as much choice as those with slimmer frames. "We are in talks now. For plus sizes. Listen, we are in the very beginning stages of talking to a partner about plus sizes. I'm a big guy 6ft 4in, 210 lbs. It's not easy for me to find clothes. Of course I can have them made. I know how everyone feels. I try to diet but... I don't like the phrase plus-sizes. Any suggestions? We gotta do larger sizes. I'm with you. As soon as I get back to NY. I'm on it! It will take me about a year. But stay with us. (sic)" Robert Duffy - president of the Marc Jacobs label - told followers of his Twitter.

Zac PosenZac Posen is to return to New York Fashion Week. The US designer will show his Spring/Summer 2012 collection on September 11 at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall, a year after moving to Paris to show his eponymous collection in the French capital.

"Paris is wonderful but it just feels like the right time to show in New York," said Zac, who still presented his Z Spoke by Zac Posen diffusion line in his hometown.

"For the Zac Posen Collection, I wanted to give a different voice and focus in the international fashion arena. Obviously, New York has been extremely supportive of me and the stars were aligned to base Z Spoke in my hometown. I have learned over the past 10 years to trust my instinct, to have fun with experimentation and to innovate. I do not see this choice as a focus on Europe, rather, it's about taking a risk, which is something that is important to do as a creator in order to evolve," he said at the time of his move to Paris.

Avril Lavigne for Abbey DawnAvril Lavigne is to show at New York Fashion Week. The "Girlfriend" singer will showcase the latest collection for her Abbey Dawn clothing range at the prestigious event next month.

According to a press release, the event - which will take place on September 12 at the city's Style 360-Metropolitan Pavilion - will be "a high-energy runway fashion show." The ladies' line will include dresses, denim, skirts, footwear, handbags, wallets, purses and eyewear.

Earlier this year, Avril said her fashion tastes have grown more sophisticated over time. The "What The Hell" hitmaker used to be famed for her rock chick look, but has now started to wear dresses and heels as her style has matured over the years.

"When I was younger, I dressed skater and had that whole thing going on. But as I grew up, I eventually started wearing heels and dresses. Over time, fashion choices change. Now that I'm older and have a fashion line, I'm more into fashion. I like to dress with rock 'n' roll elements and be casual. I like jeans with rips and skulls, but now I wear more flattering pieces. I would never have worn heels or tight trousers before, or dresses. Today, though, I enjoy it. I've grown up."
