Michelle Obama in Norman Norell

Although First Lady Michelle Obama has already made names out of up-and-coming designers, the stylish figure did something quite unusual this past weekend.

For Sunday’s “Christmas in Washington” concert, Obama -- wait for it -- wore a vintage garment. Why is this worth noting?

"[This is] truly an historic event, as this may be the first time a First Lady has worn a vintage dress," New York Vintage boutique owner Jon Schneck said.

Taylor Swift in CoverGirl ad

Jake Gyllenhaal isn't just dating a country singer -- he's landed himself a CoverGirl.

The first pictures of Taylor Swift as the cosmetic company's new face have just been revealed, and I think they're pics that would even be America's Next Top Model approved.

The 20-year-old was chosen by CG earlier this year to help front their nature-inspired line. "The Silk Foundation and Gloss Balm are really light and fresh, they feel amazing on my skin," Swift said in a press release.

The NatureLuxe products will become available in January.

Lady Gaga's Meat DressFirst came the Christian Louboutin collection, which was odd yet fairly acceptable; however, consumers are quick to see a desperate company in highly publicized collaborations like this. This time, Mattel is grabbing headlines by presenting a series of dolls that represent Lady Gaga's most memorable costumes outfits.

Considering this line's predilection for Gaga's more controversial looks -- the meat dress, the hair extension outfit, her sister's graduation look, and the barely-there caution tape "bodysuit" -- more concern lay in the attention this collection receives rather than what parents and traditional Barbie enthusiasts would prefer to purchase.

Lady Gaga, despite her intense wardrobe, has worn many beautiful and classy dresses (the McQueen dress she wore to the MTV VMAs, for instance) that would have been amazing to see on the iconic doll; yet, the company seems to have placed their standards for quality at an alarmingly low rate.

Either way, check out the rest of the dresses after the jump. They even made one for Beyonce from the "Telephone" video; unfortunately, judging by how little the doll actually resembles Beyonce, it looks like Mattel was not worried about slacking on the now less-popular singer's miniature counterpart.

Famed fashion photographer Nick Knight created the most dramatic and haunting tribute to date in honor of the late Alexander McQueen. Presented at the British Fashion Awards (where McQueen was posthumously awarded Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design), the short film features music by Bjork and the styling talents of Edward Enninful.

"We felt it was important to have the clothes featured one last time on flesh and blood before the [Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art] takes them away," Knight said.

And what an imaginative, beautiful way for the clothes' last show -- check out the video above.

Angelina Jolie with Robert Procop

Actress Angelina Jolie has teamed with Robert Procop to create a new jewelry line. Jolie has designed a collection with statement stones for Robert Procop Exceptional Jewels and wore one of the pieces - a faceted black spinel necklace bezel set in rose gold - to the Berlin premiere of her film Salt earlier this year.

"Angelina has very classic style. These are pieces she wears herself," Robert, a former Asprey's chief executive who has designed for the actress for 10 years, told WWD.

Pieces from the collection - which will be priced individually - will be sold privately through the designer's network of clients, with all proceeds going to the Education Partnership for Children of Conflict, a charity co-founded by Jolie that aims to help children who are the victims of war and natural disasters.

Charlotte Gainsbourg on LulaDespite the high pressure demands of designing their Rodarte line, Kate and Laura Mulleavy somehow managed to both design costumes for Black Swan and guest edit next month's issue of Lula!

In the Fall/Winter 2010 issue -- on newsstands now -- the creative duo styled a Kirsten Dunst editorial shot by their friend Autumn de Wilde, designed Charlotte Gainsbourg's cover dress, and cajoled Tavi Gevinson and Sofia Coppola to contribute to the fashion mag.

The magazine also includes behind-the-scenes shots of Natalie Portman in Black Swan designs, which show more of the intricacies the sisters are known for that were lost somewhat in the film. Nan Goldin shoots the main editorial featuring Gainsbourg, which was styled by Leith Clark.

All in all, the few previews of the magazine that are out (seen after the jump) are sure to please any Rodarte/Mulleavy fan (or anyone who adores fashion, anyway!).

Dita Von TeeseDita Von Teese wants her own make-up line. The burlesque dancer, who was a spokesperson for the MAC AIDS Fund in 2006 and 2007, says she is keen to have own cosmetics range because she feels not every woman is catered for.

"I want to do my own make-up line, because I feel like things are missing in the world. I'm constantly trying to mix up colors. Also, I mix my own body make-up. I love the idea of beautiful packaging for cosmetics. I use a lot of vintage powder compacts, and I buy vintage lipstick tubes and transfer lip colors into them. I put my MAC lipstick into my vintage Helena Rubinstein tubes. I love the look of matte, velvety lips. Every girl should have a matte red and a matte fuchsia. And that's so hard to find these days."

As well as wanting her own make-up line, Dita - who is famed for her vintage-inspired wardrobe and glamorous look - is keen to release her own fragrance because she hates smelling like anyone else:
