Ashlee and Jessica SimpsonJessica and Ashlee Simpson launched their girls' clothing line this week.

The sisters - along with Jessica's fiance Eric Johnson and Ashlee's three-year-old son Bronx - mingled with the young guests at Dylan's Candy Bar as the T-shirts, shoes and jeans went on sale for the first time. Proceeds from the sale of a specially-designed T-shirt will go to Baby Buggy, a charity founded by Jessica Seinfeld, while there are plans for an online design contest for a t-shirt to be included in the forthcoming back-to-school collection.

"It's a combination of both of our styles. Ashlee is very rock 'n' roll, and I'm very American," pregnant Jessica said, describing the new range, which is released through the Jessica Simpson label.

Jessica also revealed she has signed a deal for a maternity line and will also design girls' footwear. She also admitted she may branch out further if she discovers she is expecting a son: "Boys' clothing is a possibility." As well as awaiting the birth of her baby, Jessica is currently working on her spring 2013 women's collection, which she joked is so far out "my baby will be one."

Jonathan SaundersJonathan Saunders doesn't want his creations to be "sexy-sexy." The British fashion designer always tries to "evolve" with each new collection, but has certain key factors he always considers in his womenswear.

"There are elements that I hope are always there in my work: the use of color and pattern; an easiness to the shapes; an innovativeness; a femininity without being sexy-sexy - but the brand is evolving, definitely. I'm an ambitious person and I'd love to create a global brand. I think to become an international brand you have to have a trans-seasonal feel - you can't just approach it according to season."

Jonathan also admitted he has grown less concerned with what critics think of his work, as he has realized he should put most of his consideration on what his customers want to buy: "I'm my own worst critic, but now I try to look at how the season performed; what sold, rather than focus on press coverage. When I was younger, I'd design one collection and then look at the reaction, but as you get older you become more humble; you listen to your customer and get to know her and what she wants. You learn it's not all about how you're perceived."

Kick-Ass star Chloe Moretz on the red carpetChloe Moretz's mother won't let her buy designer clothes. The 14-year-old actress regularly wears high fashion clothes on the red carpet, but her mother insists the starlet only buys her clothes from high street shops.

"My mom won't let me buy high-fashion stuff unless it's TK Maxx or a birthday occasion. I love going to Topshop, Urban Outfitters and American Apparel, I'm in love with their jackets."

However, Chloe's mum will make an exception when it comes to footwear, and Chloe admitted she has gone slightly overboard by splashing out on a huge collection of Rubert Sanderson heels: "The one thing my mom will let me get is a nice shoe sometimes. I have so many shoes by that label. They're not ridiculously comfortable to wear but they are the most beautiful."

Chloe has many style inspirations with both her mum and Michelle Pfeiffer vying for the top spot. "I have a lot of looks, but right now I'm really into grunge. Messy hair, black heels. I get Michelle Pfeiffer with it. My mom has the most incredible clothes from the eighties. We're going skiing this winter. I wanted to wear her Moncler ski jacket but she threw it out."

Lauren ConradLauren Conrad recycles her outfits over the holiday period. The reality star-turned-fashion designer says it's fine to re-wear dresses to different parties but makes sure she gives it her own twist with different accessories.

"During holiday parties I end up recycling a lot of my cocktail dresses, and just wearing a layering piece, like a blazer and tights, with it."

Lauren has designed dresses, skirts and tops for her Paper Crown line for the holiday season and says they're both stylish and practical: "When I was designing, I was really keeping in mind the types of things you do during these months. You're going to a lot of holiday parties, and you want to look festive and still put together. So we had a lot of fun with that."

However, Lauren says clothes aren't on her wish list for Christmas, revealing, "My wish list for family is always something I can eat, drink or burn. I don't need a lot of things. So a nice scented candle, or a bottle of wine, or just treats - those are always fun."

Designer Manolo BlahnikManolo Blahnik insists he has "never followed trends."

The 68-year-old designer's women's footwear has been hugely popular for over four decades yet he has no idea what his appeal is: "I've never really thought about my success, but I guess it's true. I have been going for a while. Suddenly, people seem to really like my shoes again. But you know, those furniture shoes were fashionable for three or four years. I did platforms in the 1970s, so that wasn't new to me. I've never followed trends or gotten into the frenzy of doing the 'right' shoes."

The designer also admitted he can be difficult to work with because he is never completely satisfied with all his creations: "I'm never satisfied. I always find something wrong, and I'm really difficult to work with in that respect. Just today, I was looking at a shoe [here in London], and there was a fault, so I called the factory and told them to do it again."

Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2012More than $400,000 worth of Louis Vuitton merchandise was stolen from Paris' Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport on Friday.

While the investigation into the heist is ongoing, it is believed a gang of masked thieves held the store's five members of staff hostage while they filled two waiting lorries with luxury goods manufactured by the French fashion house. No further details are yet known, but Parisian police are looking into the theft.

Earlier this month, Marc Jacobs claimed its entire Spring/Summer 2012 collection - made up of 46 looks - was stolen from a train in Paris during a routine transfer. An email to staff cancelling the fashion brand's press day in London read, "Dear all. The Marc Jacobs PR team is sorry to inform you that our press day tomorrow in the Marc Jacobs store is cancelled, due to the theft of the Spring/Summer 2012 collections during its transfer from Paris."

It is thought the collection was stolen in an attempt to counterfeit the samples rather than sell them on the black market.

Karen Elson in Marie ClaireKaren Elson has returned to modeling for the first time since her split from husband Jack White.

The former Vogue cover girl - who has modeled on the runway for designers including Alexander McQueen, Marc Jacobs and Jean-Paul Gaultier - has posed for Banana Republic's Christmas Collection, following her divorce from the White Stripes singer. The striking beauty is seen wearing a range of party dressed and jumpers for the campaign, and has admitted she much prefers to give presents than to receive them.

"To be honest, I'm more of a giver. I love to find a gift that has meaning to the person I'm giving it to."

Flame-haired Karen - who is also a singer - has previously revealed she was labeled as a "freak" when she first started her modeling career: "It was all, 'You're the freak! You're the freak!' They would say, 'She's weird, she doesn't look normal. She's ugly.' I'd be backstage and every journalist would ask, 'You're a freak; how does it feel?' And I'd be like, 'I'm 18, I don't know how it feels, can I just go and smoke a cigarette, please?' but thank God that all happened because it changed everything!"
