Matthew Williamson to Launch Menswear
Matthew Williamson is venturing into menswear.
The British designer, who dresses the likes of actress Sienna Miller and TV presenter Cat Deeley, is heading into the world of men’s clothes following on from a successful collection with high street store H&M.
“I wanted to start a menswear line of slim-fitting, luxury cashmere jumpers in a range of great colors. I know these jumpers will become season-less staples in my own wardrobe. Cashmere and silk printed scarves and hand-beaded T-shirts compliment the line and form a solid foundation for the collection to grow next season.”
The clothes, which will be unveiled for Spring/Summer 2010, will be expanded seasonally and will be available at London’s Harrods department store and Matthew Williamson shops.
Matthew previously revealed that his passion for fashion started at an early age: “I wanted to be a designer from the age of about 11. There was never any question in my mind. I just knew. I remember my sister couldn’t decide if she wanted to be a nurse or a teacher, and I was like, ‘How do you not know?’”
