Dropping Dimes on the Daily - 11.21.07

Chris Bosh - Kris Humphries - AnusDropping Dimes On The Daily is all about the team looking at the previous night’s performances and mentioning those that did pretty goodly and those that did pretty badly.  Goodly is a word, right?  Anyway, this will be a quick look around the league, so don’t expect a ton of text, just some daily fantasy basketball goodness!!!

The Fig Cap: Hey, Kris!  Find anything up there?

A slight apology on the timing front as I’m not in the office for the remainder of the week.  Thus, I’m sleeping in.  The best part is, the stats haven’t changed since 8am!

Although after looking at the box score from the Washington/Philly game, I bet some wish it would change.  Your leading scorers?  That’s right, Louis Williams (25) and Andray Blatche (26).  While it is very convenient, as I mentioned Blatche in the most recent edition of Wire to Wire, but those of us that used early round picks on Gilbert Arenas (DNP), Caron Butler (six points, five boards) and Andre Iguodala (10 points, five assists) would probably like a little bit more from their players.

Regarding Blatche, I’m still recommending the addition, but I wouldn’t expect another night like this for quite a while.

The Spurs only put up 12 points in the fourth quarter against the Hawks, but managed to hold on for the win.  Tony Parker put up 31 points and nine assists, but also managed to hit a three which doesn’t happen every night.  Fabio Oberto recorded a double-double, going for 10 points, 10 boards and an assist.

Joe Johnson led the Hawks with 20 points, but I prefer Marvin Williams’ 16 points, six rebounds, and four steals.  But hey, that’s just me.  Rookie Al Horford (11 and eight, 1 block) came off of the bench behind Josh Smith (11 and five, two blocks), but actually finished a little bit better due to J-Smoove’s five turnovers.

Michael Redd and Mo Williams took care of the Cavs.  Redd went for 34 points on 35 total shots, also recording seven boards and six assists.  Mo Will dropped 20 of his own, adding nine assists and a trey.  Oh, and if you’re paying attention to the Bucks, you’ve likely noticed that Charlie Villanueva has outplayed Yi Jianlian for the third straight night.  CV went for 17 and nine last night.

Boobie Gibson was the man behind the arc once again, draining 5-of-8 from downtown.  Could he be the modern day Damon Jones, just without those teeth?  Big Z doubled up once again and King James matched Redd’s 34, adding seven boards, seven assists, a steal and a block.  And for the LeBron Free Throw Watch: 11-of-12.

Quick recap of the rest of the action:
- Kobe Bryant: 32 points, six boards, four assists, 11-11 FT
- Andrew Bynum: 17 points, 10 boards, four blocks, 6-6 FG
- Jordan Farmar: 18 points, four dimes, three treys, two steals (Also a WtW fav!)
- Jamaal Tinsley: 10 points, 10 assists
- Shawne Williams: 24 points, three treys, no arrests
- Baron Davis: 31 points, six boards, seven assists, four treys, 11-20 FG
- Shariff Jackson: 23 points, six boards, seven assists, three steals
- Zach Randolph: 15 points, 16 boards, seven turnovers
- Chris Bosh: 31 points, 12 boards, 45 minutes of play
- Jamario Moon: five points, 12 boards, one block
- Dirk Nowitki: 32 points, seven boards, 4-4 FT
- Ben Wallace: six points, 12 rebounds, three blocks
- Thomas Gardner: 14 points, two threes, who??
- Melo Anthony: 26 points, nothing else
- Allen Iverson: 22 points, six dimes, three steals
- Marcus Camby: 12 points, 20 rebounds, five blocks <—- HUGE
- Amare Stoudemire: 26 points, 13 boards, one steal, four blocks
- Ron Artest: 33 points, 12 rebounds, three treys, two steals

That’s about it.  Happy Thanksgiving, every one.
