Dropping Dimes On The Daily - 11.06.07
It’s my first crack at this DDoTD thing and I only get to write about one game? Gee, thanks guys.
Anyways, yesterday was one of those funky one-game days fantasy owners hate (or love, depending on how busy you are). At least it was a good one. Too bad most people don’t get NBATV.
The Fig Cap: That’s right, Mr. Classy. You knock down those shots. No Jason, JUMPshots.
It was a good ol’ Western showdown. Two-thirds of the Texas triangle. Big expectations for both teams. And a whole lot of fantasy value.
The best performances of the night were turned in by Tracy McGrady (no shock there) and Jason Terry. T-Mac finished with 35 points and 8 assists, and Terry with 31, 5 dimes, and 4 boards. Dirk Nowitzki had a very poor shooting night, going 7-20 for 19 points in a big Dallas win.
But here’s the most interesting line of the night: 10 points, 13 rebounds, 4 blocks. Yao Ming right? Nope. DESAGANA DIOP!!! Yes, the same DeSagana Diop you are thinking of. Let’s face it boys and girls, he’s worth a spot. Grab him. Now. Stop reading this if that’s what it takes. Erick(a) Dampier hasn’t touched a basketball yet (although he’s scheduled to practice today) and nobody knows when he’ll be back. It doesn’t even matter. Hopefully for you, Avery Johnson makes the right choice and keeps running Diop out there for 30+ minutes a game (39 last night), so you can reap the rewards of a whole lotta blocks and boards.
But besides that, not much else jumps out. Josh Howard had 21, yeah, yeah, that’s expected. No Houston guard besides McGrady cracked double figures or 25 minutes. That’s to be expected. Just when we thought Mike James was back, he shoots 4-13. It’s going to be like this all year folks. And DDoTD will be here to record all the important details.
